I'm getting loud whining noise that gets louder with the speed of the truck. Usually dissipates after 2 or 3rd gear and doesn't come back until the truck sits for a while again.
Usually doesn't happen in the morning Mainly when I leave work for lunch. Any ideas?

I’ve recently been noticing a similar issue. For me it’s happening within the 1st quarter mile from a cold start but letting the coolant temp exceed 100 degrees before driving away. It’s not done it enough to pinpoint what the cause is. I’m leaning towards the transmission staying in 1st gear too long. I need to remember to look at the RPM the next time it happens.

Gas or diesel? With or without your wife in the passenger seat?

Diesel. Truck has to be moving. Doesn't do it if I rev the engine. Mostly does it after the truck has been sitting in the sun for a while.
Truck has 2300 miles on it. I would bring to the dealer but it would probably take them a while to hear and find the problem. I'll get someone
to record the sound outside the truck to get a better idea.
