Thought this was interesting, happened across a poll in which brand leads in popularity for towing RVs. Was surprised to see Ford so far ahead.

They didn't even include Ram.

Interesting poll, I wonder what part of the country they polled. Here in the campgrounds in my travels, tow rigs are overwhelmingly Ram, followed by Ford.

It was an online poll, I answered the other day. Guess it is no longer open.

i travel extensively between tx, n.m., and co. i see a ton of ford's and almost as many rams. handful of gm. in tx it's ram, but as you work north and east, it turns to ford country.

One of the things that pulls RV'ers to the Ford side, is the F-450 and it 7' tighter turning radius due to the larger front axle and its ability to articulate farther.
I was honestly on the fence between the F-450 vs the RAM3500.

My Grandfather used to always say, F.O.R.D... Fix Or Repair Daily. LOL
That has never left me.

7' tighter than the F-350, but the RAM HD is tighter than Ford or Chevy HD pickups and I think perhaps the CC trucks are tighter still.

This is what I get for listening to people in RV forums....

Did my homework this time.
You are right!

Seems the diff between 3500 DRW and f-450 is just over 1' (there are, to your point, multiple factors, CC etc)
Platinum 4WD Crew Cab 8' Box = 25.2' (pretty much the case for. all trims less the Reg Cabs)
Laramie 4x4 Crew Cab 8' Box = 26.9' (varies between trim/ bed size from 23.9 to 26.9 at the high end)

At their best configuration for turning radius
XLT 4WD Reg Cab 8' Box = 23.8'
Tradesman 4x4 Reg Cab 8' Box = 20.8'

People LIED TO ME!!! CONTINUALLY!!!!!! BASTARDS!

Thanks for the perception recalibration there!

Talking trucks in some of those forums is like talking guns outside a gun forum. Lots of FUDDs.

I think you also have to factor in half tons. The fords are lighter and tout higher tow/payload ratings, so their half-ton seems superior. In reality, after having one, I wanted that truck to be heavier, never felt stable. Couldn't wait to trade out and get back into a RAM.

I stepped out and bought a 3.5 Ecoboost F150 one time, and couldn't wait to get back into a Ram. The power of the 3.5 was excellent, but that thing was so darned uncomfortable, my back just couldn't take it.

FORD- first on race day

Here is how i see it, I do not care what polls say i have used newer fords i have used newer GMs but neither of them have the shear power or comfort of the RAM plus they just look sooooo much better always have

I absolutely love my Ram, but she's had her problems (not too many to keep me from ordering a new 2500)

But enough that my kid said Ram - Roadside Assistance Mandatory.

I couldn't help but laugh!
