Mirror - Mounted Auxiliary Reverse Lamps

Throwing this out there as I didn't realize you had to have the switch depressed for them to come on in reverse. I believe the correct terminology is "trailer spotter lights".

So, you manually turn these on each time and they deactivate when in drive. Is that the entire cargo light system, or do I still need to turn off the cargo lighting?

For anyone else who retrofits these mirrors, with help from Jimmy07, he gave me the names of the values i had to enable in alfaOBD, they are:

Doors: Mirror Rear Guidance Lights: Yes

Doors: power convex mirror: Yes

I couldn't find them yesterday because i was using the android app, I had to use the windows version of Alfa to force it to show me the BCM options for a 2020 2500, once I was in there they stood right out.

Gotta say i'm really impressed with these LED's, they're mean little bastards and throw way more light than I would've expected. I took this picture last night in my garage:

You have a 1500 tho? Just using the 2500 bcm code to enable the lights.

I have a 2019 1500 and just upgraded to these mirrors everything is working besides the lights

That’s a tough one since there is logic involved in how it works the way it does. I’d say find a blank plate that isn’t being used and install a button to activate them when needed.

I wonder if these mirror LEDs could be added to my mirrors as I already have heated and power folding mirrors.

I did a thing.

I molded a little shroud out of Sugru to block the light source so I don’t dazzle myself with them when using the mirror to reverse.

We will see if it stays stuck or if I have to augment it with some 3M tape. But so far, so good.

Hi there, I’m looking to do the same thing. Did your idea work.. in other words, did the shroud stay on? If so, if you don’t mind, what did you use and could you show a close up photo of it.? I tried zooming in on your photos but it’s hard to actually see the shroud. Thanks

Yep, so far so good. Lasted all winter, all summer, pressure washing etc so far no issues with it falling off.
Sorry those are the best photos of them I’ve got. They match and hide really well you wouldn’t notice them if nobody told you. I just molded the Sugru by hand, trial and error with the lights until I was happy with the reduction in glare without blocking the light/casting a shadow

Does anyone know if where I can purchase a pair of these mirrors with the mounted auxiliary reverse lamps, I just purchased a 2022 ram 2500 and it looks like the previous owner, swapped them out for standard mirrors. I know this vehicle comes with it because it says it on the window sticker. Thank you in advance

I recently got a pair of tow mirror (with 360 cameras) for my 2021 ram 1500 limited longhorn, But the "rear guidance lights" won't turn on. I went into alfaobd app and it wasn't an avaliable option. I then went to the jeep and ram dealership and they weren't able to do anything. I read on here that someone tried the window version of alfaobd, so I decided to try the same but I had no luck there either, If I can get someones help id appreciate it.
