New ARE Cap on New 2500 Question?

Just got a new ARE cap put on my 2022 2500 Laramie. It has the single Tee handle in the middle. It has the two rods that extend out on each side of the window. It also has one plastic lever on
the back of the tee handle that is suppose to lock behind the tailgate in the center, but with the lock they used the shaft isn't long enough for the locking lever to reach behind the tailgate. Its about 3/4" too short.
The dealer that installed the cap took off the lever and turned it so its in the up position and will not hit tailgate, but also will not lock behind the tailgate as it should. Dose anyone have a newer ARE cap with single tee handle that does latch in the middle as it should? I'm thinking they used the wrong lock on mine. I would think for the price I paid they would have a lock that would work the way it should!

And I'm sure they will blow smoke and tell me that's just the way it works on a 2022 Ram.
I will definitely be going back to them! I just want to have my ducks in a row and know if ARE actually has the proper lock that will work or they just go with the "one size fits all".

I have same truck and ordered the same topper. Unfortunately won’t be here until end of May
