2022 HD Crowdsourced VIN/Order Tracking

I think the thread has been hijacked by paint protection? I don't want to go down that rabbit hole

XPEL is a PPF
Nope it's a form of PPF. I worked at a chevy dealership, what PPF they use is not even close to the same quality as Xpel.

Xpel is a wrap that's far superior . Not all PPF are the same. Take a look

I agree that not all are equal but XPEL is a Paint Protection Film (PPF). I had it on my Camaro I know it's good.

I will ask!
He is calling me back in a couple of hours to get my decision on the PPF.
@Havoc Powersports - I can ask about yours as well. What are the details?

I just spoke to Aaron at MD. They had 3 trucks delivered today. One was a 1500, and the other was a HD for "Mr. Hicks". I'm not sure if he is on this forum....

Nice looking truck. At least the bumper is chrome and an easy fix. Our first Ram was a 2015 Laramie 1500. After we completed the financing paperwork in April 2015, they slid the "We Owe" form across the table. It mentioned a slight scratch on the passenger door caused by the dealer prep team for which we needed to schedule an appointment with their body shop. "It only needs a quick touch up". Sure!
After the first try, the passenger doors looked like they were sprayed with a rainbow glitter gun. Two more attempts to match the paint expanded the "blended" area from the front fender to mid-bed. We were now into June. The body shop manager still wasn't satisfied with the outcome so he ordered 2 new doors. This time they had a company rep from BASF on hand to supervise the formulation of the Crystal Granite. Two subsequent attempts yielded only slightly better results. It is now late August. For weeks I had been checking my temper and agonizing over the severely diminished resale/trade value of our four-month-old truck. Luckily, we did not have to enlist the services of a lawyer as the dealership voluntarily offered to buy back the truck, ordered a new 2016 and made good on all previous incentives, financing and warranties.
Some may say we should have inspected the truck before we signed on the dotted line. Absolutely, we should not have let the dealership steer the process. But, that would not have changed anything as we were not going to back out on the deal. We had ordered the truck and had camping trips planned all summer and into the fall. The ordeal may have dragged on for months, but I got a new truck in the end. I consider my self lucky. It could have been much worse. Just ask J-J. Good luck to him.

I ordered about two weeks ago so I doubt there has been much movement but I was wondering when you all started pinging RAM Chat or elsewhere to check for a change in status.

I have seen some post the dates of milestone changes but I can never seem to find them when I am actually looking for them. LOL

Is there a general timeline that is pretty typical -- understanding anomalies exist on both sides of the extreme with earlier or (sometimes much) later delivery.

I pinged ramchat basically whenever I was bored at work or once a week. Once their canned response changed I sent out an email to the dealer in addition to the once a week check-in I did.

No the timeline varies widely. If you want to try and guess one for yourself make a copy of the spreadsheet and fiddle with that

@Pig Daddy Sit back wait 8-10 weeks and ask for updates every couple weeks after that but in mean time try to forget the order and stay busy!! Yes I experienced one of the longest waits 31 weeks to the day from order to delivery this is the best advice I can give anyone..

Thanks. That matches what Sandi a Mark Dodge told me as well. Honestly, it will be a nice change of pace. I am as excited as the next guy for a new truck but I need to move on to other activities that need to get completed. At least now I can try to add a new "used" car to the fleet. Sold my wife's car. Ordered the RAM and now the household fleet is down a vehicle. Looking at a used Jeep Wrangler because I guess I just don't have enough car maintenance in my life LOL.

mine been stuck in Gibson Indiana for the last 3 Day getting Close to New York but the wait LOL

When mine was stuck at the rail yard in Portland, the dealership gave up on waiting for a semi to pick them up and grabbed whoever was available and drove down to the train depot and drove the new vehicles back to the dealership

Is the status on the spreadsheet being updated by ODS? The status on mine shows D and it says 4-15 for that. I've been checking with my dealer monthly and ramchat in between but never updated. Just wondering if someone else is randomly checking it and updating.

My dealer says that can’t be done. At least for me.

I wish I could look up everyone's status and update it in the sheet. But all I can do is reflect what I hear. It's possible that I noted the D status on your row based on your comment on the 14th in the main thread about still being in D status. Maybe I should have marked that as 4-14.

Good to know, thanks for your work. I wasn't sure if someone was already tracking them all and if I was wasting ramchats time by doing it also. I just did my weekly check, still in D .
