2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Ahhh, got ya. I'd bring my sleeping roll and get a good 6 hours in the back of the mega cab which is apparently the size of a NY City luxury apartment.
it's not that big....hahaha! I had a memory foam roll that I put in the back during our camping trips to the desert. At 5'7" I could fit diagonal with the seat flat.

I drive tractor trailers overnight and see a lot of the hotshot drivers sleeping in their pickups, most of the Rams are crew cabs and they seem to manage fine, mega would be even better.

Hell if my 6’3” 200lb self can crush a solid power nap folded up across the seats and around the shifter in my day cab Mack, a Mega Cab would feel like my King Bed at home

I'm saving about $11k at MD over any local dealer, hell I could live in NZ and make that drive and still come out ahead even with these gas prices!
Exactly. I'm 14k under MSRP. I figure about 1500 at the most for flight, gas and rooms. So I'm still 12k under for 2 days of driving. I'm ok with that.

For those of you who ordered from Mark Dodge, what do they take for a deposit down? I’m tossing around the idea of accepting my damaged truck and then immediately placing an order for a new one and just waiting it out.

Only thing is there’s a few options on the shortage list that I would want unfortunately

$1000 when I ordered in March

I grew up just north of Houston. I told my wife I could catch an Astros game and stay at an old friend's house, but she didn't like that idea.
Me too! Greenspoint but I try not to stay there anymore if I can help it. So I'm sure you spent an evening or two at Harrahs back in the day. They have overnight RV spots too that you could probably park in.

Picked up my truck at Chapman in Horsham, PA a little over 4 months from ordering. Everything was exactly as ordered and refreshingly simple and easy to do. Would completely recommend if you're in the Northeast. The only negative has nothing to do with the dealership, just that the truck was shipped and sat for nearly a month waiting for a ride north versus others which go by train compared to those going to MD. That said, it was great having a simple drive to the dealership.

Old on the left, new toy on the right.

I ordered my DRW in Billet silver, NE ... but have to say, that blue really has my attention, looks really sharp! The thing I would have liked to see, the Ram on the frt grill should be the body paint color and the door handles should be black as part of the Night Edition.

Daaamn, you could fit in the center console!

That’s pretty dangerous TBH.

guess it just depends on age. I'm 39 and have driven cross country and thousands of miles in short time with pcs moves on short timeliness with the military etc. best time was 1300 miles around 20 hrs or less. I sleep at truck stops onnahort drives but always carry a handgun. maybe dangerous if the areas are super bad but I have never had a problem in my life. and sleeping for a few hours will recharge enough to drive distance again to each there own I guess. I wouldn't do that if I was over 50 but when your younger still can manage long hauls. just depends on the person guess I should have stated that.

old jeep for u that's good my dealer at the time wouldn't match mark dodge but came in about 2500 more. said deal let's do it. mark dodge is great I love there customer service but told me they would only give me 45 in diesel for a 50 gallon tank. my local dealer said they would fill it up. and the 1300 miles to mark dodge would have cost some money to where my deal didn't save that much. especially with today's fuel prices I did good. for those saving 11k yes you did well but not all local dealers try and scam people. mines been great so far even had a conversation about the LoJack they were telling me I had to have at 699 I said no I special ordered this truck I have the right to refuse it don't put it on and he said remind me when it comes in. it's at the rail yard waiting a truck ride to dealer since the 9th.

Specifically “power napping”, vs getting actual sleep.

ok should have stated a few hours 4 or so. I consider that a decent nap not sleep. but yes if u power nap for 30 mins that's just as bad as driving straight through I used to be able to do that but can't anymore age is starting to get best of me at 40. not in 20s anymore.

The only thing I’m aware they take is a wired $1K…at least that’s what I had to do. Renae sent me instructions for wiring the $ along with all of the other paperwork I had to sign and email back.

That's fair, I'm in CA where everything costs double and the points mean nothing

I used a credit card. 1/24/22 order.

Yup! like I said, SD to H-Town in 27 hours of straight driving...back when I was in my 20's. 16 hour recon missions outside the wire in my 30's started wearing me out, now I'm in my 40's and a bed at the Hard Rock in Biloxi sounds fabulous after leaving Lake Charles.
