2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

That is so wrong! But explains a lot about why you weren't notified!
Pretty frustrating for sure. What system do you use to track these? My dealer is claiming it hasn’t been there since the 6th, but at this point I trust your word over theirs. You can PM me if you’d like.

After playing around with this United Road site a little I see there is a 3500 VIN 3C63R3JL2NG162980 and a 2500 VIN 3C6UR5SL4NG217346 Pending Pickup to Dennis Dillon.

On my 3500 DRW -

I noticed the rear wheel liner is missing a center piece. It appears it should just be a snap in. Without it, mud and snow is going to get behind the existing plastic.

Dealer says this piece is removed from the build when the truck has the auto level rear suspension because it can interfere with the air lift sensors. Same issue on both sides.

I say the sensor has plenty of room and give me my plastic insert. But hes telling me it is not available as a stand alone part.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a part number for that middle piece of plastic, or aftermarket options?

This was covered quite a while ago, I believe the parts were on backorder.

Well guys here I go again. Truck reordered April 1. We'll see how long it takes to come in this time. Last order took 3 months but came in wrong so had to reorder.

Well, here’s an update that I hope nobody else needs to deal with. Here’s my new truck, complete with the “damaged in transit” package.

If there’s any silver lining to the dealer waiting 10 days to (not) tell me it arrived, it’s that they have already received most of the parts needed for the repair. I’m very frustrated, and I’m concerned about how hard it got hit in the rear too. I hate to say it but I may walk from the truck.

That absolutely sucks! I think without some sort of price reduction, I'd walk away. I guess it depends on how bad you want or need it. My buddies f150 got rear ended at a traffic light a few weeks back. It didn't look as bad as that. Did they say what happened?

What was wrong about it? Just curious if it was their mistake, or a mistaken package, etc.

Would also demand a FREE lifetime bumper to bumper warranty on top of any agreed upon settlements, if you do decide to move forward in buying the truck.

I'd walk. Any shady dealer that would get that truck in and KNOWINGLY delay the announcement of arrival to cover said damage is NOT a dealer I'd want to do business with. They KNEW it was damaged. If you had a deposit, they KNEW it was your truck. If it was a small dent, sure. But that's pretty significant damage. I don't think anything they could do would amount to enough to make up for that.

After 295 days, the truck is at the dealer and am taking delivery tonight! Will post pics later but a special thanks to brv10 who helped with getting me information that kept me partially sane.

It took 14 days exactly from shipping to dealer. Here is hoping it’s what I ordered.

will echo what others have said...disappointing that they didn't tell you and you had to seek it out...of course the big rhetorical question is whether or not they were going to tell you or not....say rhetorical because they of course are going to say they were going to tell you if you ask now

at a minimum I'd ask what they are offering as compensation...

as far as walking away from it - lot depends on how long you were planning on keeping it...if you trade every year or so, maybe keep it if the compensation is what you want it to be...or even if it's substantial, go ahead and take it and then re-order from somewhere else...l

lot of different approaches

Wow sorry this happened to you, personally I would walk away from the deal, pretty shady that they tried to hide it from you

That damage doesn't look too bad. I would still buy it.
As someone that has repaired a bunch of salvage vehicles, I can say that the damage is always worse than it looks and you can't even guess until you crawl under and look.

One thing to think about. I would guess that the dealer is being compensated for the damage. There is a potential that they are actually profiting from this situation. I would hope they do something to make it right with the customer.
