2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Well, thanks to brv10 I’ve figured out why Ram Chat and my salesman couldn’t track my truck.

It was delivered to their sister dealership 9 days ago. Drove by this morning and saw that it’s there, sitting in the back, looking like a sad puppy at the shelter wondering if it’ll ever find a home.

Not sure if I should be frustrated about it or just be glad that it’s here, feeling both right now.
Was it delivered there by mistake?

No, I’m actually going to Larry H. Miller Boise.

I figured out that my truck will be transported to the dealer by United Road. I have found that I think I can track it by going to their website, clicking the menu drop down and then clicking on Delivery Receipts

No off road pkg but I did get the snow chief group. If I remember correctly the ORP included different shocks and those trucks had a lower towing capacity. Basically got everything but sunroof and air suspension options.
Same towing capacity, just Bilstein shocks a skidplate and stickers

Thanks for allowing me to join the group. I am soon (hopefully) to be a first time owner of a RAM. I have long been a Ford fan & my most recent Ford (2011 F350, XLT, Crew Cab, 6.7L Diesel, 8' Box) was a fantastic truck for me. I truly loved driving that truck everyday but as the mileage increased and the vehicle got older I ended up getting nervous about something going wrong with the engine. From my understanding these trucks can get pretty pricey to work on as you have to remove the cab in order to work on the engine.
I work for a trucking company where we spec all trucks with Cummins engines as they have long been tested, tried and true. So I decided to give RAM a chance. Hopefully I'll never need it but it doesn't hurt to have a Cummins certified mechanic at my disposal should any issues arise.
During my new vehicle search I found a dealer that had a truck on order with ALL of my NEEDS and MOST of my WANTS, so I had them put my name on it. 2022 RAM 3500, Big Horn, 6.7L HO Diesel, Crew Cab, 8' Bed.
The vehicle was originally ordered 10/7/2021 and I put money down on it 01/29/2022. The dealer "guesstimated" it would arrive by the end of February or first week in March. As of today (4/14/2022), I'm still waiting...
Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for delivery once a new build is shipped? On 3/31/2022 I was informed that my vehicle was in the "shipping stage" and on 4/1/2022 was told by the dealer that the estimated shipping date was early the following week. Since then I have not been able to get any updates and/or an ETA to the dealer. I have been pretty patient up until this point but am now getting nervous about how long before delivery, here's why...
Going from the original guesstimate arrival date I secured financing through my Credit Union at a MUCH lower rate than through the dealer. The problem is that I need t a purchase agreement by May 2nd in order to keep the same low interest rate. If it goes past that date I would have to re-apply for the loan & interest rates have gone us since. So if I don't get the vehicle by then it will cost me more $$$$.
So if anyone has any intel on shipping time from Saltillo Mexico to Northwestern Pennsylvania it would be greatly appreciated.
VIN?

I have a deposit on a 2022 Big Horn that my dealership ordered (for their inventory, not for me, I put the deposit on it while in transit).

Last status was KZT as of two weeks ago. Today I asked for an update from my salesman and he said he needed to speak with his GM because “once the trucks in transit it falls off my locator but he’ll be able to see it”. He had told me this when I left the deposit as well, saying that once it falls off his tracker it normally shows up at the dealership two weeks later. Me being impatient, I called Ram Care and they said that I needed to speak with my dealership and that they couldn’t provide any update.

Does this seem odd to anybody else? I’m hoping it fell off my salesman’s locator and it’s close to arriving, but it would seem that Ram could tell me that it arrived off the second train if that was the case. Really hoping it’s not a case of it being damaged and neither Ram nor my salesman wants to be the one to break the news to me.
VIN, sounds fishy.

Was it delivered there by mistake?
No, the order sheet said the sister dealership address which is how I knew what dealership to drive by. My frustration isn’t the fact that it’s at the sister lot, I anticipated that. What I’m wondering is how a $73k truck managed to sit in the back for nearly 10 days and nobody thinks to call anyone. Someone must’ve taken delivery of it from the tractor trailer, and they must know it is sold or it would be a front-line truck, not parked in the weeds out back. It’s a small dealership and their inventory level reflects that, in total they have about 15 Rams on each lot, most of them are 1500s. It’s not like they’re drowning in CCLB night-edition Cummins powered Rams on their small display lot who’s next closest truck (and only other HD) is a reg cab tradesman with a 6.4L. I understand mistakes get made and nobody is perfect because lord knows I’m not and I’ve messed plenty of things up myself, but I think I’d be more understanding if it was a mega dealer that had hundreds of vehicles in inventory, not a tiny lot that has maybe 50 cars counting new and used.

I did call and speak to a salesman at the sister dealer basically just to confirm via the VIN that it is the truck and that there’s no reason why it’s sat there without any notice. He apologized profusely and said that he would have a manager reach out asap. Waiting for that call now.

I just contacted CHAT again this morning (I have been bothering them every day, looking to see if they had an ETA yet. I have to appreciate the honesty of the Chat Rep at least telling me that it might stay in the shipping status, without an ETA until it reaches the dealer. I guess at this point I'll just wait for a surprise call from the dealer. I'll keep you updated as to when I actually receive it...
Ram chat told me the same thing for about a month. Once it was put on a train they gave me a ETA. I think that is typical based on what I have read in this thread.

My truck arrived Salt Lake City today. Now it just has to get transported to Boise. Who knows how long that will take

What dealership did you buy it through? Was it Dennis Dillon? I ordered mine through them in December and its still in D status

Heard back from the dealer. Truck showed up damaged and they’re fixing it. I think I’m more mad that they were just going to fix it and not say anything to me about it, hoping I’d never find out

For those of us that are having our trucks shipped by United Road, I found a great write-up on a Bronco forum explaining how you can track the transport through their web site. I tired mine this morning and it works just as explained. Now I just need it to get off of the train.
