So there is a post out there that the tri-fold hard tonneau from BakFlip (MX4, FiberMax, etc...) may obscure the rearview mirror camera and possibly the cargo camera located in the CHMSL.
Have any of you owners with those options & a BakFlip tri-fold hard cover experienced this? I don't want to spend a Grand on a cover with that possibility. Thanks in advance.

I had one on my Rambox PW - it never covered the high mount brake light but I don't have any cameras into the bed.

I ended up taking it off to sell though because I wasn't pleased with how to (didn't) seal and the fact that the drains kept falling off no matter what I adhered them with.

I have the MX4 on order. Will be here and installed on Monday.

I will try to get you a picture in the morning, I believe it does not block it but really never paid attention

I have a 2022 3500 SRW with ramboxes with an installed Bakflip MX4. With the MX4 flipped all the way up against the back window I can say on mine it does not block the rearview camera. I do not believe that I tried the cargo camera to see if it were blocked but I would not expect that it would be blocked. The top of the cover sits firmly on the rear glass and the third brake light assembly along with CHMSL are well clear of the cover. Still working on getting it to fit perfect and reduce leakage though, had considered retrax but at 2X the price and the loss of bed space I really want the MX4 to work out.

I have a Bakflip MX4 on my 2019 Ram 3500 cc sb. It has four sections and folded up against the rear window, only partly covers the bed camera. My guess is that a three section on a short bed would totally cover the camera and a four section on a long bed would also cover the camera.

Pics from this morning, level shows the distance in the bed not seen from the cab.

Thanks to all of you. The "blind spot" of the cargo camera would be less than ideal with a goose ball for visibility. Can't just toss your arm over the passenger seat and eyeball the hookup with the Megas.
But having an unobstructed view in the rearview is a HUGE plus not only due to the cabin length and visibility, but the fact that I can still use the "mirror" even with the MX4 totally open to the window.

@DeepH20Driller , I also look forward to your install.

I plan on a gooseneck again and found it easy with the MX4, its so close its not a huge deal.

Have you had a chance to hook up a gooseneck with that bed cover? Wondering if it’s possible to have one section down and still be able to pull a gooseneck…

I have not on this truck but on my 2019 I did that all the time. Packed totes/cooler and tucked under the front panel. Used the RAMBOX divider to hold them forward and used the straps on the cover to lock the folded panels down. Worked like a champ. I always envisioned having two RAMBOX dividers (one for front and one for rear) while towing a GN. Trailer prices are crazy right now so my new 30' is on hold but I plan on doing this again at some point. Until the prices come down a bit I am stuck with my bumper pull Car hauler (20 foot) and Utility trailer (12 foot).

Good to know! I’ve been wondering this forever but never could get an answer from someone with experience. From the pictures it looked like that last panel would be close to the neck. Happen to know how much room you have between the last panel and the neck? Roughly?

It was enough space I never came close to hitting it even on hilly ground. I want to say it was 5+ inches, if your GN is that high above the truck I would bet you have bigger issues. I was always more worried about the side of the beds hitting the frame of the trailer.

10-4 good to know! I appreciate it man!!

Here's a picture of my 13 mega cab with the bak flip mx4. This is how I drive when towing it. No ram boxes, but it should be similar length wise. Pullrite superglide hitch20210109_152321.jpg
