2022 HD Crowdsourced VIN/Order Tracking

Just talked to my dealer via txt to see if my truck had shipped. He told me that it has NOT shipped but believes it is sitting waiting for chips. That's crazy, today is 9 months to the date that I ordered. I'm about to give up and buy a KIA.

Just kidding :p:D

Waited this long no point in giving up. I ain't no quitter!!!

My understanding is that once the window sticker is published (as it has been for your truck) that it is complete. So a story about it "missing chips" doesn't sound right to me.

Not that I can think of another valid reason for why your truck hasn't moved ~1 month after being built.

Ok good to hear hopefully dealer just didn’t know what to tell me and truck gets shipped soon. I’m gonna wait either way since I’ve been waiting so long and really excited to get this truck. First time ordering a truck and not buying one off the lot.

What is the current status code? He should be able to tell you that.

I do know Ford and Toyota were building a lot of trucks and then parking them waiting on finishing details. But I don't think Ram is doing that I'd suspect if it is stuck at the factory maybe it had a paint issue or some kind of quality issue.

I find it kind of crazy that the dealership doesn't appear to have any great way to get more status than what their computer screens say for status. Especially on a truck build that is taking so long or stalled at a status. I'd think in today's manufacturing they could get a lot of details.

A friend of mine is a Data Scientist with GM I'll ask him next time we hang out what they do.

GM is even worse - now somebody that is deeply involved with the development of their systems...maybe.

Been trying - key word is trying... to order a Tahoe, 5 months in and two dealerships still haven't been able to even place the order, GM's allocation system is that messed up. Luckily the third dealer was able to get an allocation for both a Tahoe and the applicable constraints...yall think Ram is bad - just go read over a few GM forums...trucks built since November are being held up for ....nobody knows...one guy/dealer had a summer order built in November just get a status change in the last couple of weeks....that the truck has been moved to get a bedliner sprayed in

The idea of this spreadsheet is cool. But I feel there is quite a bit of necessary information missing. Like paint color and other options that could help decode the reason certain vehicles are delayed more than others. What are the chances these can be added? And to the people/person that has the code for this sheet wouldn’t it be possible to gain some of this information via vin codes? Also we need a way to filter sort the fields in order to really narrow things down. I’d also like to now why some dealers can get more detailed tracking than others.

If you look at the second tab its all the info that can be decoded via VIN. The additional details would have to be input from the owners themselves.

You can filter by selecting the columns you want filtered and setting a temporary filter. Alternative is to copy the spreadsheet to your own account.

As @OfficerDirtySanchez pointed out to me a while back, there's also this spreadsheet which tracks a larger dataset:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...edit?usp=drive_web&ouid=115543437200533284953

As far as filtering and sorting, I've found it's best to save the spreadsheet in Excel which gives you the ability to cut the data however you'd like. Google Sheets probably has many of the same capabilities however, there's a learning curve.

emillika on the sheet went to F late this week. 3500 SRW Limited Mega 6.4. No sticker yet? I thought they went live when build started. I must have that wrong. 3C63R3PJ3NG236722

As others have alluded to, the spreadsheet with all 2022 VINs has a lot more information. If you're a data scientist please try to put together some kind of model for order to production date based on truck model and options. That's beyond my skill set.
