2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Anyone heard that Chrysler has told the dealers they can no longer order Wranglers and Heavy Dutys for dealer stock? They now have to be sold orders to be able to place an order. The dealer told me the restriction is because they cannot meet the demand.
Interesting...about time! Personally, I think the sold orders should have priority anyway. But, it's pretty clear they don't.

Seems like the truck rides are as well. It’s been sitting about 40 miles from the dealer for close to a month… fully built, nearly delivered, just baking in the sun for no reason other than the logistical nightmare we’re all facing.

I’d pay plenty for a hotshot driver to be able to pick it up and complete the delivery but it’s like the USPS… at their mercy regardless of the quality of service you receive.
Maybe you’re waiting on me to arrive

I do like those options too, was wondering why the back seats in the HD weren’t able to do the same as the 1500. That full-size rear fold-down console is so nice too!

The current HD cab structure is the same as the previous generation, which is why the rear seats do not function like the current generation half tons. From everything I have read, and heard (via sources well in-the-know), you’ll most likely not see a major refresh (current generation half ton cab on an HD chassis) until 2025.

Everything I’ve seen so far suggests only minor exterior styling changes for 2023. Potentially some different style tow mirrors and some different badging.

Don’t airlines let you change travel dates still, as long as the points are used within a year?

Yes! However, no change fees however you still have to pay the difference in price and if short notice it could be expensive. I used to work for SW Airlines and they have the best change policy but I see AA is now not charging a change fee. SW never had a change fee.

Our order is tracking, maybe a little over estimated time, but it’s still about where we figured. I exchanged emails with Aaron this afternoon, and the truck is confirmed in Port Allen.

I’ve never had an issue with communication with Sandi or Aaron. She has asked that I reach out at certain intervals, and replied same day.

Now my mom on the other hand… she was told 20 weeks, relax and contact me in 8 to check for movement. Well, I was feeling good on 3/19 and felt I’d look into it. It took me a day to get my registration email back for the 5th Gen site (1500), and that afternoon I was told it was KZX on 3/19. So, mom was blindsided, had no chance to get an update sticking to the timeline Sandi gave her. I’m not blaming her though she can’t juggle every vehicle she orders in her head. Mark Dodge just rolled the deposit on a second order (which I’m tracking now).

I was never fortunate to get any updates from MD. Due to the kindness of several forum members I knew the status of my build long before the Salesman. When inquiring about my truck it would be a day or two before I had a response from the sales guy and it was always incorrect info. The sales manager Otis on the other hand has been very helpful when I've talked with him. Towards the end I had a couple of shipping update emails from the girls in online orders after I reached out to them.

could always be worse for sure. Trying to order/buy a Tahoe for the past 5 months and GM’s ordering system is a mess. Talked to a salesman today and he said didnt understand all the jargon with ordering, mentioned one of the sales guys had done a lot of research on his own, but that he wasn’t going to…some on here had said their truck getting built early is like hitting the Ram lottery…just having your order accepted by GM is the lottery that those on the GM forums talk about

About 11 to 11.5 under MSRP. When I went to Prestige they wanted 5000 over MSRP and would not move. I ordered 1/11/22
Yeah they suck here. I will gladly drive 2 days for 14k under MSRP, especially since I'm paying cash. I don't trust shipping, especially after watching those fools on shipping wars.

Wish they would toss us a free diesel month right now for all this waiting

Mine came in today. 2500 Laramie with lots of options. It just spent the last three weeks in our local train yard. It took two trains to get here. I ordered 1-10-22.

@beckty85 how's your order tracking? how is your current truck? Do you know anyone near Idaho trying to sell their truck for a reasonable amount?
D1 last I heard, scheduled to be built may 2. Current truck has been PERFECT since the new wiring harness was installed. They also replaced my cargo camera. Probably going to be a tough decision to give up the mega srw for the cclb drw. The mega is way better for the everyday driving I do vs the dualy.

I see trucks ordered at the same dealership getting delivered that were ordered after mine and there is a venue to getting my deposit back so I wouldn't lose the deposit. If I get to that point it will be because it's gotten so far into the summer our summer camping plans will all be shot so I'd just cancel the whole thing altogether. Between high gas prices and a recession on the horizon there are a lot of trucks coming up for sale here, it wouldn't be hard to get a rig to get us through the summer then reevaluate after that. Manufacturing catches up, dealer lots fill up, prices come down, just play it by ear
exactly what best friend keeps telling me to pass on mine and wait a little bit. these trucks got soo expensive people will stop buying them soon and the fuel price qill be so high u can get one for next to nothing. there absolutely is a recession coming it's only matter of time. at 2 percent apr I think I'm doing ok but things keep rising.

I hear ya! CoastyAV8R is still waiting on movement of his truck ordered from Dillon, just thought I’d see what was going on with your second build.
