2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I ordered my truck from Dennis Dillon a few weeks before you, 3500 HO diesel and it isn't even scheduled to be built yet. I even ordered a Tradesman on the premise that with the supply chain shortage, the less options you order the faster you'll see your truck. I'm trying to figure out how to cancel my order with them right now...

Should be simple, “hey, this is tanking too long…keep my order”

The hard part is if you’re trying to recoup that deposit.

What are you going to do? Order elsewhere? Maybe get one of these late orders that people had been waiting on before doing same as you?

P.A. I reached out to Aaron, he said I’m looking at the middle of next week before they can get my truck to Lake Charles.

I keep thinking about all the undelivered orders placed before mine, about the delivered orders placed after mine, then all the members who have said “it’s worth the wait”. I don’t like to gloat, but I am getting excited.

Seems like the truck rides are as well. It’s been sitting about 40 miles from the dealer for close to a month… fully built, nearly delivered, just baking in the sun for no reason other than the logistical nightmare we’re all facing.

I’d pay plenty for a hotshot driver to be able to pick it up and complete the delivery but it’s like the USPS… at their mercy regardless of the quality of service you receive.
Baltimore is tough, a lot of autos go through there. Hope you get it soon.

I see trucks ordered at the same dealership getting delivered that were ordered after mine and there is a venue to getting my deposit back so I wouldn't lose the deposit. If I get to that point it will be because it's gotten so far into the summer our summer camping plans will all be shot so I'd just cancel the whole thing altogether. Between high gas prices and a recession on the horizon there are a lot of trucks coming up for sale here, it wouldn't be hard to get a rig to get us through the summer then reevaluate after that. Manufacturing catches up, dealer lots fill up, prices come down, just play it by ear

Gotcha, I’d be pissed as well so I understand. If that happened to me, our family would be up the creek as we’re taking a year off after retiring for camping and showing off the country to the kiddos.

Where are you located? Every so often Jacksonville gets Tradesman DRWs on the lot, and just today my friend intercepted one of 12 GMC DRWs coming into Coggin. I’be been driving Rams for nearly 20 years, but those Denalis are pretty nice too (I drove his 2500 the other day).

Looking to order some filters before they are all back ordered. Even through I don’t have my 22 LL yet. Researching filter I get conflicting numbers. Can anyone With a 22 6.7 HO give me the file filter, fuel/water separator filter & oil filter Mopar #’s please.

Thanks,
Dave…

Anyone heard that Chrysler has told the dealers they can no longer order Wranglers and Heavy Dutys for dealer stock? They now have to be sold orders to be able to place an order. The dealer told me the restriction is because they cannot meet the demand.

Enjoy your retirement and thank you for your service. I did 3 years at Ft Hood in the Army before I went in the Coast Guard and retired a few years ago with 30 years in, you're doing it right, spend time with the kids n family before they get too old. If the damn truck ever shows up this will be my 6th Ram diesel, my first was a 91 that I put 300,000 miles on. My daughter is a senior in high school so we have all these camping trips planned with her this summer which is why not getting this truck soon is a big deal. I'd buy a GM diesel before I'd buy a Ford diesel but I'd rather just stick with a Ram because of the Cummins. Glad to see you'll be getting yours soon!

Yeah, where are you towing a trailer at 50mph for 500 miles?

No one wants a new truck with 1k miles on it, but seems a proper break in requires that, but where do you find the time?

Next Monday Lake Charles to Lake Havasu City Az 1513 mile fun stuff!

Isn't that about the time the 23's go into production? Hope they give you a good discount since your truck will be the previous year's model by the time you get it. I think I would order a 2023 model at that point.
No.

3 more years until retirement for me, and it's in our plans to do a 3-6 month trip with the girls (3 and 1 right now). Just need a trailer lol

Thank you for yours! I hope something good works out for you teenagers can be frustrating to deal with, but it’s the last bit of time you get with them to dial them in…we have a 16 y/o at the moment and she’s a terror, with the 11 y/o building up her little ’tude in the chute ready to go, but she’s a scholar along with her 5 y/o sister so it’ll be fun for them.

I’m hoping you can find something, I know J-J had one order come in that he let go recently. Maybe one of these lost orders will fall into your lap at the right time.

If you buy new early you’ll be fine, just need to shake it down. The market for these is like anything right now, hard to come by…at least that’s what we found…and we’re in FL!

If you end up buying used, look at the pre-COVID years. The 2020+ models have been slapped together and have QA issues. We found this out through multiple Facebook groups (recommend Military RV’ing).

Don't go over 50 mph for the first 500 miles of trailer towing? Are they trying to get you killed?

As my kids used to say, “Not my doey.” I’m just quoting what the manual says. I figure I’ll do like my last break in in 2006 and after the first 500 miles, I pulled my 5th wheel for the first 500 miles on the back roads through towns and what not, staying off of the interstate, never going over 50. Took a couple of weekends, but after that, we left on our normal trips on the interstate and never looked back.

That was 16 years ago, and I’m about to trade that truck in for this order, and I’ll start the process all over again. It’s a pain, but as much money as I spent on this one, I plan on at least another 15 before I do this again.

But as my father always said growing up, “Make plans, just don’t take them too seriously!” and, “That’s all I know, and it ain’t much.”

Hopefully mine is on that same truck to MD. Our trucks got delivered the same day to Port Allen.

Packing for my trip to Mark Dodge tomorrow. I land at 5:52 pm and Aaron was nice enough to have someone stay late to pick me up at the airport and get me to the dealership to take delivery of the truck. Probably drive 3-4 hours and spend the night somewhere then finish up the rest of the drive back to Alabama on Saturday. So ready . . .

I'll post some pictures when I get it home and cleaned up. Best of luck to everyone with their deliveries.
