2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

When we first ordered, our truck was estimated to arrive 2nd week of July, based on them saying it would be 10-12 weeks. We bought out Fifth Wheel in May and had it delivered at the end of June, giving us a few weeks to prep it. A few days later we learned that the dealer had never actually ordered the truck. Since then, we have what I like to call a 16000 pound lawn ornament.
Sure am glad I kept my 2002 Ram3500 diesel dually ... or I'd be in the same boat as many here .... with our 5th wheel camper stuck in the driveway .. Maybe when I get my new dually, I should pass my truck along to someone here waiting for theirs so that their 5th wheel isn't in prison.... then they can pass it along to the next one ... and the next one ..

Filter issue
Yep our family business is Preventative Maintenance we do PMs on everything from trucks vans buses frightliners ect…. We have been dealing with filter shortages for over a year now we buy bulk often to try and prevent actually running out when our customers fleets require services its been rough. All that said PLEASE us extreme caution using no name filter brands we had a brand new Fuel Filter (no name) on a Cascadia shread we advised the customer wait for quality materials but he was leaving so we used what he wanted and luckily the secondary filter caught everything before entering the engine however it was still $$$$$$ to replace a few fuel lines and the filter housing.

Has any one noticed that their elevation showing on their truck is off. Here in Florida at 10 feet above sea level mine is reading 79-80 feet below sea level. I haven't looked yet to see if there is any way to calibrate it. Any thoughts from anyone?

Just placed an order for a 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie pearl white night edition 6.4, they told me it will be at least August till I see the truck
Isn't that about the time the 23's go into production? Hope they give you a good discount since your truck will be the previous year's model by the time you get it. I think I would order a 2023 model at that point.

Can those in the know let me know where my truck is or if they show an ETA? Thanks 3C6UR5FL9NG244374 Ordered 1/14/22 from MD, Build date 3/23/22 2500 CCSB 6.7 Laramie

Ramchat said earlier today:
Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle is in the shipping stage to your ordering dealership. Your order is now just pending a delivery ETA, which generates closer to the time of delivery. At this time, we can suggest checking next week for an update.

Thank you!

That is how it feels…I need to get out an move it though! The last time I pulled a 5th wheel it was a 56’ boat with a 6x6 Mk 28…so about 9 years

Don't be so sure...MD was great, but I wasn't ever contacted "first" by my salesperson after I placed the order. I only sent three initial emails after I placed the order (say initial as I probably responded to a couple of their responses day of those "first" emails) ...sent one about 6 weeks after order, one after it was built (only knew it was built due to checking online) and then one checking on shipping status...got the notice 2 hrs after the last email that it was on the lot...went through finance that afternoon...had to scramble a little as I didn't have the down payment ready to be wired...I'd definitely buy from them again, but guess i was the exception on receiving regular updates

Our order is tracking, maybe a little over estimated time, but it’s still about where we figured. I exchanged emails with Aaron this afternoon, and the truck is confirmed in Port Allen.

I’ve never had an issue with communication with Sandi or Aaron. She has asked that I reach out at certain intervals, and replied same day.

Now my mom on the other hand… she was told 20 weeks, relax and contact me in 8 to check for movement. Well, I was feeling good on 3/19 and felt I’d look into it. It took me a day to get my registration email back for the 5th Gen site (1500), and that afternoon I was told it was KZX on 3/19. So, mom was blindsided, had no chance to get an update sticking to the timeline Sandi gave her. I’m not blaming her though she can’t juggle every vehicle she orders in her head. Mark Dodge just rolled the deposit on a second order (which I’m tracking now).

Hope this helps...here are quotes directly from the owners manual regarding the engine and other parts during break in:

The Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine does not require a break-in period due to its construction. Normal operation is allowed, providing the following recommendations are followed:
  • Warm up the engine before placing it under load.
  • Do not operate the engine at idle for prolonged periods.
  • Use the appropriate transmission gear to prevent engine lugging.
  • Observe vehicle oil pressure and temperature indicators.
  • Check the coolant and oil levels frequently.
  • Vary throttle position at highway speeds when carrying or towing significant weight.
Because of the construction of the Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine, engine run-in is enhanced by loaded operating conditions which allow the engine parts to achieve final finish and fit during the first 6,000 miles (10,000 km).

CAUTION:
  • Do not tow a trailer at all during the first 500 miles (805 km) the new vehicle is driven. The engine, axle or other parts could be damaged.
  • Then, during the first 500 miles (805 km) that a trailer is towed, do not drive over 50 mph (80 km/h) and do not make starts at full throttle. This helps the engine and other parts of the vehicle wear in at the heavier loads.
Don't go over 50 mph for the first 500 miles of trailer towing? Are they trying to get you killed?

Yeah, where are you towing a trailer at 50mph for 500 miles?

No one wants a new truck with 1k miles on it, but seems a proper break in requires that, but where do you find the time?

Easy - you buy a truck from Granger when you live in Maryland, fly in and drive it 1,150 miles home. Get home and she’s all broken in and ready to tow haha

Going on week 4 of sitting in Baltimore MD rail yard waiting for auto transport to Koons CDJR in VA. 11/29 Order.

All dealers within ~500mi radius are charging $5k above MSRP on Limiteds as a “market adjustment”, even the limited longhorns. Crazy time to be buying a vehicle, either have to be patient or get ripped off. Pick your poison.

I was never fortunate to get any updates from MD. Due to the kindness of several forum members I knew the status of my build long before the Salesman. When inquiring about my truck it would be a day or two before I had a response from the sales guy and it was always incorrect info. The sales manager Otis on the other hand has been very helpful when I've talked with him. Towards the end I had a couple of shipping update emails from the girls in online orders after I reached out to them.

I’m driving to Lake Charles from Jacksonville in the 2500, picking up the 3500, convoying to Ft Hood to drop off ‘06, then returning to Jacksonville. I’d say that’s about 1200/1300 miles for breaking in.

The boat rides are awful.

My truck got to Eagle Pass this morning. Due to get to Roper UT on 4/14. Then I’m figuring another week to get to Dennis Dillon by truck. It’s getting closer. Rail car TTGX604129
I ordered my truck from Dennis Dillon a few weeks before you, 3500 HO diesel and it isn't even scheduled to be built yet. I even ordered a Tradesman on the premise that with the supply chain shortage, the less options you order the faster you'll see your truck. I'm trying to figure out how to cancel my order with them right now...

Seems like the truck rides are as well. It’s been sitting about 40 miles from the dealer for close to a month… fully built, nearly delivered, just baking in the sun for no reason other than the logistical nightmare we’re all facing.

I’d pay plenty for a hotshot driver to be able to pick it up and complete the delivery but it’s like the USPS… at their mercy regardless of the quality of service you receive.
