I apologize if this is already discussed somewhere, I searched but couldn't find my answer. Is the surround view camera not available on Laramie models? I would have added it when I ordered but it didn't show up. Is it "standard" now? Seems odd that you can't add that to a Laramie but nearly all youtube videos of Laramies state they have it. Anyhow, I'm just curious if it's included on my truck or not.

I do not know about standard, but a buddy of mine got a 2022 2500 poverty truck and optioned the surround view into it. I was shocked that you can even option to that level with the Tradesman.

Right. But that package isn't available on Laramies. At least not currently.
Interesting, you are correct.
I did a build and a search and the 2022 HD line has no mention of any cameras, except the cargo camera, nothing! The 2022 Ram 1500 has an Advanced Safety Package that includes the surround-view camera system.

I added the Security Group but it doesn't say the surround-view is included. I also added Level C so there's not much else I could have included. Just nowhere did it actually state the surround view other than the Towing Tech group on the Limited and PW. Clear as mud. Ha ha. Thanks for the info!

It was available in January but only through asking the dealer to put it on the truck Laramie. It’s on my 22 to 3500 DRW Built and waiting for a train ride.

I’m in the same boat. The surround view cameras were the only option I REALLY wanted but didn’t believe was available when I ordered my Laramie on 1/24. I never asked the dealer unfortunately, I made an incorrect assumption that it wasn’t available since it wasn’t an option on e ram build site. Still pretty upset with myself for that.

It was part of the Towing Technology Group B on my 22 Laramie 2500, built in November 21.

I talked to my grandson in law about this no surround view listed. He is a General Sales Manager for Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, etc dealer. He said it is a chip shortage thing, started early in 2022. Currently, can't order it.

Thats what we’re saying…when we ordered (I ordered 1/24), the Towing Technology Group wasn’t an option that was offered. Nor was a stand a lone surround view camera package.

I ordered 1/24/22 Laramie. I have it on mine but you had to ask the dealer for it. It wasn’t available on Ram.com

Have you had the surround view before? I had it on a 1500 and didn’t read the fine print enough when ordering the 2500 (thought it was included in the loaded longhorn packages) so I don’t have it now.

I never felt confident using the surround view cameras alone due to the fish eye distortion and would almost always check side mirrors.

Obviously if you’ve had it before and know you like it then disregard what I’m saying. But as someone who’s had both, you’re not missing out on much IMO.

The only camera I miss having is the front but that’s just because I haven’t spent enough time behind the wheel yet to know how far the truck sticks out in front.

Definitively a chip shortage thing. Some chips are now quoted mid to late 2023. You don't want your truck sitting in the mfg lot until they are available...

It isn't available on the website to build/add for the Laramie, BUT it is available to order. It is part of the Tow Technology Group. It can be added to a build, talk to your dealer, they can add it. I ran into this same problem when I building out 2500 Laramie, I checked with my dealer and they said it was available to order. It isn't a chip thing, if it was then you wouldn't be able to add that group to other trims.

Towing Technology Group B $1,075 Center Stop Lamp with Cargo–View Camera Surround–View Camera System Trailer Reverse Guidance

Order Code is: AAN

Yep, I made the mistake of not asking. I assumed based on it not showing as an option that it was included. Then, for fun, built a limited to see the price difference and saw it as an option. Started digging and noticed it wasn't available (via the website). A little bummed, but I'll live without. As I Love Grits mentioned, I really just wanted the front camera. Would have been a nice to have, but I will somehow survive without it.
