Agreed. I would’ve paid an additional fee at the time of order to be able to access a web based tracking system that could’ve detailed and tracked my trucks entire build process. Would be really enjoyable to have cameras staged on specific stages of the assembly line that could snap still photos of your actual truck in different stages of the build process. If they want to move to the custom order model, then take the time and effort to make it an enjoyable process from start to finish. While I recognize that not everyone would be interested in such a thing, I feel confident in saying that a large portion of the truck buyers in this group would have appreciated such a tool. This wasn’t my first custom ordered truck and it certainly won’t be my last, and as someone who sees a purchase like this as more than “just a truck”, it would be nice to have more of a custom experience.

It is odd how in this technology driven world we have that a system like this is not up and running. A vehicle on an assembly line today has to trigger each step and report complete prior to moving through the process, this is tracked digitally in order to move each build through the process efficiently. If there’s data it can be tracked and shared. When I pick up a rental at the airport, they tell me where I can find my vehicle, when I return it the rep scans it, marks down data and put it in a system. Again there’s data that can be tracked and shared.
Seems to me that the problem is only data sharing. Much like some of you service members can agree with me on…there are way too many systems that do not communicate. Anytime your VIN is accessed there could be a running log from ordering your vehicle until it’s destruction, but until data sharing happens we will be at the mercy of those that control it.
