Spring cleaning/Cup holders

I decided today to clean out the inside of the truck today since the recent snow had washed off most of the exterior for me.

I've always like the removable bottom trays in all the various cubbies to make cleaning easier but only just today realized that the cupholders themselves come out to clean. This is the bench seat but I'm sure the consoles have something similar/better. Going back in was easy, just had to push on the rubber lips and slide them back under the surrounding plastic. Just wanted to share in case anyone else hasn't realized how easy these are to remove for cleaning. It took me a while year to realize haha.

Right on. I will try the cup holder when spring gets here in a month or so.:) I did know the one inside the pop-out drawer comes out because the wife either left a open dipping sauce or it came open and made a hell of a mess. The coins and hair clips were glued down from the bbq sauce. Soooo pissed!

I was able to clean the cupholders in me previous 3 CTD this way...but my 2022 seems to be more of a tight fit...

That's what I thought about these too until I gave it a shot. Do you have the console or the bench?

I have the console. It's such a tight fit I just haven't felt comfortable getting more agressive with it...are you saying it's like the past years and just pushing the bubbles in?

I'm not sure on the console where the rubber ends and the plastic begins but that is exactly what I did to get mine out. Just pushed on the bubbles and squeezed until the upper lip of the rubber cup holders slid out a bit and then grabbed that with my thumb and worked my way around. The console might be totally different. I haven't actually seen one in person.

I got it out this morning...it's definitely a little more work than it was on my 2017 and 2019.

There are these rubber hook/tab deals that are a booger to get off. The cover for the cup holders is in the way...not sure if there is a way to remove the cover, that would make it easier.

I removed them one time from my 2021 with the console. Won’t be doing it again. I’m afraid I would end up ripping those rubber tabs. Plus they are a pain to get them fully seated when reinstalling.

Ya I just tried to reinstall and Iam thinking the plastic trim around the sliding betray needs to pop off.
Once I get home I may see if I can get it off with a trim puller.

Dang, it's too bad the console isn't easier. Nice job documenting what the console version looks like and how it's attached. I bet once you get that trim piece off it'll slide right in. I hope my original post didn't steer you into something that turns out to be more of a pain then it's worth.

Na, I put it back in and it's functional but I havent gotten it all tucked under the trim in a couple spots, but I'll mess with it when I am home and it's warmer in Arizona than Colorado too!
