Hey guys. I ordered a 2500 Cummins bighorn nothin extraordinary on November 20 and still not a single word! Getting pretty frustrated to be honest I knew it was gonna take a while but man this is nuts I even opted out of a few things and doing it after the truck gets here to speed the process up a little bit. Driving me crazy. I live in Ontario Canada

You have another 3 months of waiting at least

I ordered my 3500 HO on July 7th, 2021 and finally got it December 30th, 2021. I received zero updates until they called me the week before Xmas and said it was a week or two away.

What dealer are you using? I find there are not a lot of helpful dealers here in ontario

McConnell in Northern California. They called me every other week to let me know they didn’t have any updates. Gotta give them credit for keeping in contact. I was also tracking my vin online and could see that there was no update on the vin until they called me with the news that the truck was 2 weeks away.

I was asking the OP as he said he is also from Ontario

I knew I wanted a 2500 6.4 Hemi but have had a new 1500 for only six months. Ordering sounds like a royal PITA in so many ways after watching this forum for a couple months...so, I have been looking for just what I wanted, at a good price...in a world of slim pickings. My local dealer and many MT dealers marks them up by anywhere from 3 to 10K and doesn't have anything. But Idaho has some of the biggest Ram dealers in the country and they deal. I have been checking for like two months for everything within 500 miles. I was NOT going to settle for something like I did with the 1500 so had a list of REQUIREMENTS. One was a 6.4 Hemi as the primary purpose for the truck is pulling a 6700/7000 lb (loaded) travel trailer, transfer station duties (trash runs) and some light four wheel driving locally (Live in MT). Second was the console. Good luck finding that at dealer on lot inventory, off road package and limited slip and NOT White or Black and short bed. I found Billet Silver, my favorite color. That was it with NAV 8.4 screen heated seats and wheel/7 inch TFT. Good luck finding it. The console was the primary problem on this "requirement" list. It's Bench Bench Bench or limiteds at 75K up to high 80's... for the most part and way too much.

So, almost giving up, I stumbled upon one...at a dealership 500 miles away (Ontario Oregon) that checked every box... AND at a decent price. MSRP is going up and up. The dealer I'm getting it from had one in transit (now here) at MSRP https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/win...28-957107134.1646393428&vin=3C6UR5FJ0NG213609 AND would take one thousand off for trade in and one thousand off if I finance through them (They are competitive at 3.9%) so, I'm getting it for 61K. Yeah, I know not as good as Mark Dodge...

They have IDENTICAL ones on the lot and in transit (different colors) and the NEW MSRP's on the latest ones are IDENTICAL vehicles at 2K more MSRP than mine. https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/win...48-957107134.1646393428&vin=3C6UR5FJ7NG229077 They said they expect further increases and MORE restrictions on various chip based packages in the "near" future... Oh, I also live in MT with ZERO sales tax... So, only financing 59K... Not bad as I notice few talk about their sales taxes in their deals here and I remember the 9% from Kansas and how hard it hit when buying a vehicle.

Sales tax in Ontario Canada is 13%. Was around 10k!!!!

At this point I'm thinking it is a big horn thing. I ordered on Jan 20 and am still d status. Meanwhile lots of larimies ordered around the same time are getting dates and some have been built. I know I'm not in as far as you but was hoping for a may delivery. What other options did you order? Mine has the ram box and digital rearview. Those were two items I was thinking may hold mine up.

To illustrate the point of ongoing changes and restrictions, Today you CANNOT get the Level C on my build at the Zip Code I want at 1830 bucks. It was available on the build page yesterday...

Laramie Level C Equipment Group $1,830
Pwr Multi–Func Htd Trailer–Tow Mirrors w/Man Fold
Ventilated Front Seats
2nd–Row In–Floor Storage Bins
Rain–Sensitive Windshield Wipers
Remote Tailgate–Release
Radio / Driver Seat / Mirrors / Pedals
Memory Automatic High–Beam Headlamp–Control
Mirror–Mounted Auxiliary Reverse Lamps Power Adjustable Pedals with Memory"

OK, I did get the 8.4 inch "NAV" screen for $795 so I guess my total is $2625...

Now level C can't be ordered as of today, but you can get the Laramie Level B at $4,995
  • 2nd-Row In-Floor Storage Bins
  • Automatic High-Beam Headlamp-Control
  • Mirror-Mounted Auxiliary Reverse Lamps
  • Power Adjustable Convex Aux Mirrors
  • Exterior Mirrors with Memory
  • Door Trim Panel Foam Bottle Insert
  • Power-Heated Folding Memory Trailer-Tow Mirrors
  • Power Adjustable Pedals with Memory
  • Radio / Driver Seat / Mirrors / Pedals Memory
  • Rain-Sensitive Windshield Wipers
  • Remote Tailgate-Release
  • Ventilated Front Seats
  • 17 Speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Sound
  • Heated Second-Row Seats
  • Uconnect® 5 Nav with 8.4-Inch Touch Screen Display
So, for the price difference, it appears that you get the "power folding" mirrors AND the Harmon Kardon vs Alpine stereo system and rear heated seats...

Think that's worth it? I'm OK with the $2370 in my pocket personally. The power "folding" mirrors I wanted pretty bad and don't have but they are power adjustable with the rear shining stuff... I can live with it.. I frankly prefer the Alpine system having heard both particularly as a "gimme" with the Laramie Trim. I don't care about rear heated seats.

Actually the Level A at $1930 would have been my choice, but It wasn't on my Lot Truck AND wasn't available for a bit because you couldn't get the Power folding mirrors on a Laramie at all there a few months ago as I remember.

Level A
  • 2nd-Row In-Floor Storage Bins
  • Automatic High-Beam Headlamp-Control
  • Mirror-Mounted Auxiliary Reverse Lamps
  • Power Adjustable Convex Aux Mirrors
  • Exterior Mirrors with Memory
  • Door Trim Panel Foam Bottle Insert
  • Power-Heated Folding Memory Trailer-Tow Mirrors
  • Power Adjustable Pedals with Memory
  • Radio / Driver Seat / Mirrors / Pedals Memory
  • Rain-Sensitive Windshield Wipers
  • Remote Tailgate-Release
  • Ventilated Front Seats
Oh, I noticed someone recently linked a brochure that "supposedly" has all the packages trims etc... It was obviously done prior to the tech restrictions and really has no value at all from the standpoint of trying to figure out what is what... The "levels" have no bearing upon present reality... AND, it is very apparent that Ram is doing everything they can to "push" buyers UP the trim level scale.

I ran into the same thing. Had to go with the higher options package on the big horn to get the truck close to what I wanted. Only thing I didn't get was the power folding towing mirrors. I would have had to go to a larimie at 4k more and the only thing I really wanted was the power folding mirrors. I didn't want the heated/cooled seats and couldn't get carpet delete in the larimie. Kinda wishing now I would have gone larimie just because they actually seem to be building them, lol.

I got a Laramie. It does NOT have the power folding mirrors that I really wanted. I am hearing they are only on the limited etc. You can find a few out there built before like October of 21 and even some Bighorns with Towing tech but the chip shortage is kicking in. You can get an after market set for like 1700 bucks off a site called infotainment but will wait. They include something they call a "genie" that plugs into the port under the wheel that programs it. You have to replace the mirrors and the pad on the door... Since everything is plug and play now, doesn't look too difficult if you are handy. My mirrors actually have the sensor port on them for blind spot monitoring even though I don't have it. I'm wondering about that as an after market fix.

For what it’s worth, I ordered a 3500 tradesman level 2, heavy duty towing package on August 2, 2021 and got it on December 1.

The other option I looked at was going with a tradesman with the tow tech package. It came out to be very similar in price to the BH that I ordered. I would have gotten the power fold mirrors but would have had to live with all the chrome and didn't get some of the niceties that come with the BH interior. I also figured that the truck would never get built with all the tech stuff on it. Good to know that going laramie wouldn't have gotten me the power fold mirrors.
