2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Just curious from peoples past experience how long after all parts are their to build your truck till it actually gets put in line/ started?
My initial D1 date (all parts are gathered) was Jan 27th. Build was set for Feb 14th. So figure two weeks-ish +.
That build date slipped to March 5th. My truck is supposed to be getting built this weekend, I think. It went E status (framing) yesterday morning so it’s looking good for me.

So to answer your question, it could be a month or more, or it could be a couple weeks or less after you got the all parts gathered message to when it will be built.

Are you D1? How many options do you have?

I expect your truck is built already. From what I understand takes under 8 hrs to build.

I ordered my truck on 12/2. It was built on 2/9. It's currently in the local rail yard awaiting transport for the last 20 miles to the dealer. Estimated delivery is around 3/10.

Pls remind me what the tire pressures should be for 2500. 65 front and 70 rear?

The door jam sticker will tell you, but it will be higher in the front than the rear for an unloaded truck. I have read a lot of guys start out at 65 front and 60 rear, and some are down to the 40-50 range.

First time poster.

So my 3500 Limited DRW arrived this week at the dealer, only 6 weeks later than they estimated (5 months total). And it was damaged in transit. According to my dealer, the FCA rep for the Nashville, TN area was out on paternity leave and couldn't get an answer on what FCA will do since my new truck is now not factory new. Damage entailed replacing the front and rear bumpers (was apparently not secured while on the train) and there was a large scratch/dent on the dually wheel fender. The truck will look new as the bumpers are full replacements, including the sensors. But the scratch could potentially show later. Their collision shop is doing the work, so it's not like a mechanic is doing body work.

My deal still stands with the dealer. I told them I'm not paying brand new pricing (~5% off MSRP) for a truck that has a Car Fax report. This is all an insurance claim with shipping. I'm hoping they offer $10k off since it's damaged. I'm not sure what to do. I don't have another 5-6 months to wait on another truck.

It was sad seeing my dream truck in the body shop with no bumpers, rear fender all sanded down waiting on paint. Really not sure what to do.
Personally I would not want a "new" truck that has that much damage repaired even at a steep discount and even if damage does not show up on Carfax and other reporting agents.
I've told this before, but I had a red 71 Charger that apparently had LF fender repaired and repainted before sale and 2 years later it was distinctly faded and less glossy than rest of car.
As to your current 5k under MSRP, prices have gone up but a new MD order would probably still be under your current deal maybe even after they give you another bit off.
And while there is no guarantee, a lot of MD trucks as well as other new orders seem to be arriving in the 10-16 week window.

The Tire Pressure sticker will be on drivers door but typically they only list pressures associated with Gross Vehicle Weight - most likely 60 PSI Front / 80 PSI rear (that was what my 2015 2500 was and my 2022 3500 is same). And for an unloaded truck, front with diesel will be significantly heavier than rear so you may want to lower rears if not planning on carrying a load but dont forget to increase when loaded. Note - Both Tire Dealer and Truck Dealer refused to recommend anything less than door sticker regardless of load - so take note of that and make your decision accordingly.
As for real world unloaded truck I run cold pressures 60 Front / 65 Rear - they will climb 5 psi or more when the tires warm up and a bit more at 75 mph on freeway. But set pressures COLD before tires warm up and dont worry about hot pressures unless they are low. If loaded or pulling a trailer I put the Rears back up to 80 PSI cold and go 65 PSI on Fronts.

heck, by the looks of the build list ... I don't see virtually any movement on anything from Jan 1 and on, and if you ordered anything with a dually or Big Horn ..... forget about it. Not sure how anyone can say.. things are getting better ... .... maybe for SRW ..

New here and ordered my first (ever) RAM with Renae at MD. Currently in Germany and the Military Auto Sales would only give 2% off MSRP and decided to do some shopping; thankful I stumbled across this forum.

RAM 3500 SRW MC HO Big Horn, Granite, Night Edition, ordered 2/22. Received VIN 3/1.

I have no idea what status mine is. All I did was contact ram chat and they said all parts are here just waiting my turn with no date yet. It’s a 2500 Laramie mega cab night edition with level 1 package, fifth wheel prep, limited 410 rear end.

@OfficerDirtySanchez - Thanks - your spreadsheet is awesome. It just told me my truck was built today (subsequently verified by ram chat). Ordered 1/13, built 7 weeks to the day. Feeling like I may be one of the lucky ones!
You are lol, I ordered the same day, my truck went to d1 for one day then back to D. Still waiting.

22 of 113 (19.5%) January orders have equipment listings so far. 82 of 139 (59%) December orders have been built.

That is scary to hear! Mine should be in transit now… yikes. I hope it shows up in perfect condition.

They’re getting better. First part of the year the pattern I saw was anything with a Hemi was moving quickly. SO or HO Cummins weren’t moving. I ordered 12/28, was quoted 18-20 weeks, 9 1/2 weeks in as of now and my truck is built and waiting to be shipped. Loaded Laramie with Cummins. Yes, things are moving quicker than last quarter for sure.
