Good Day, I have 2 Rams, a 2007 SLT 2500 with a 5.7 Litre Hemi 150,000 miles no rust, the second Ram I just bought today, 2003 SLT3500 with a 5.7 Litre Hemi, the problem is there is rust in the box. BUT the biggest issue is when I run the VIM in "window sticker and the DOdghe web site and carfax, they show different descriptions, one is a 2500 with a diesel, one is a 2500 with a 5.7 Hemi. The VIN is 1D3KU28D33J571553 as per the registration paperwork.

VIN not VIM, big fingers small keyboard, didn't spell check

Try running the VIN for each and check the build sheet.

I get this

I get this for the 2003 -''Unable to fetch required information. Please contact System Administrator'', but I get the correct one for the 2007,

I think I was horn swingled, when I run the 2003 VIN in a dodge site, it shows it as a 2500 not a 3500, the guy must of "up-badged it) and fooled me

2003 3500 would have spring pads and overload leafs that the 2500 doesn't.

That's pretty much it so unless you need the legality of the GVWR/payload as titled, it's probably not a big deal unless there's some real shady stuff going on with that VIN.

I can still pull a build sheet for my 2004.5 (I bought new) but was never able to get the window sticker online.

Thats not true my 05 2500 came from the factory with the overloads and spring pads, even a few of my 2nd Gen 2500s had the factory overloads

Could be check the body such as the door sticker for matching vin, i have seen plenty of people swap vins from a truck they already had to a truck they just bought that was the same year and color just to avoid safety inspection and registration fees

Why would you say not true?

I owned an 04.5 2500 diesel and it DID NOT HAVE SPRING PERCHES FOR OVERLOADS THAT THE 3500 HAD.

That may be true for an 05, but the OP was asking about an 03.

OK< now I am really confused, I don't think I'll be able to insure it here in Saskatchewan Canada so I'll just use it as a parts truck for my 2007 2500 Ram

I am taking myself off the hdrams as this is causing a headache, I am no closer to getting an answer that I was before I joined :(

Is the VIN you posted for the 2003?

Also, if it's badged 3500, does it have overload spring perches welded/riveted to the frame and an overload spring on TOP of the spring pack?

Like i said it was possible to get them from the factory if ordered on the 2500s every 2500 i have bought from the mid 90s to 13 had overloads and contact pads from the factory

Check the actual VIN on the truck to see if the paperwork matches.
