Service Air Suspension System Immediately after AlfaOBD tinkering

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2022 3500 Cummins HO with the auto level air suspension. I was tinkering around with AlfaOBD initially to disable ANC. Eventually I was messing with the air suspension making it go up a little and down a little. It was all working fine then “Service Air Suspension System Immediately” came on the dash and I got codes C2212 and C156E. I can clear C2212 but can’t get C156E to clear. Also can’t use bed lowering mode as it says air suspension is temporarily disabled. I can still raise and lower the back using AlfaOBD manually however.

Any ideas where to start to fix the dash message and get back to normal?

Did you save the stock configuration? Simplest thing to do would be to put it back to stock and see if that fixes the issue. I have seen the fault you can't clear and its typically a calibration issue. Seems like what ever you did made it lose its calibration for the height sensors. Not sure if alpha has that ability. Or if restoring the initial configuration file will fix it.

You might be able to get away with with a third party scan tool, but i doubt it due to the new "atlantis high architecture" the new HD's use. I ran into this on my 22 when i tried using wiTECH, only to find out i needed a mopar MDP as the VCI I was using want comparable.

It has to be the height sensor calibration. One side is reading at 7mm and the other side is at -7mm. I didn’t mess with height sensors at all so it’s all kind of strange. Should have stuck to disabling the ANC and left the rest alone.

Anybody have any idea as to what the stock height calibrations were? Or anything close? The truck is actually sitting level at 7 and -7. Obviously those are incorrect, but the truck still sits level.

If no one else gets you the specs I can hook up my alpha tomorrow and see what mine is set to. You might get lucky but it may not be that easy.

For any of these systems, ACC, LDW, surround view, ect. When you go into the sensor or module and change the settings, it messes with the calibration. If you don't go through the right steps under the right conditions you will lose the calibration. I deal with this all the time.

Have you driven it?

I got mine in a bad mood once and it eventually went away after a drive and a few starts.

Yeah, it drives fine but still having the issue. Probably out about 30 miles on it at this point.

I jumped in and tried writing height values but it keeps telling me that what I entered is outside the allowable range. I’ve tried everything from 20mm up to 135mm. Still stuck

Are you using a matching number of decimals?

No. I've just tried punching in 50 or 80. Is there a specific format or guide that I can follow?

So apparently 230 and 240 is within the parameters and worked to get the light off, but that jacks the rear of the truck way up until the dash says suspension adjustment disabled due to payload. Stuck scratching my head on this one.

Just checking back in to see if anyone knows the format that ride heights can be entered in. When I try to out a decimal like 80.5, the app crashes and sends me back to the first screen. Only thing I can get to work starts at 230, which makes the rear “normal” height go way too high.

What did you change in ALFA besides the ANC?

Check in the Uconnect to see if the air ride system is in tire jack mode?

In general, you can reset RAM 1500 air suspension system by pressing the suspension button located on the console for 40 seconds. You can also select transport mode for lowering your truck to entry/exit mode and wheel alignment mode for increasing its height up to average ride level from its display panel.

I have a 2018 ram 2500 with air and I have the same issue. It is asking me to recalibrate the sensor so I can write the height value ??? How do you recalibrate the sensor?

Be sure you have the latest update. The current versions 2.3.0.0
I had the older version and I could not enter my values. Now with this version, I can enter the values. I am not sure about what value to enter still.

My 2024 3500 has the service air suspension light and dealer won’t service because my suspension is “heavily modified” even tho it’s just blocks in the rear
