Why CUMMINS option on 5500 is so special??

Was killing time playing RAM builder and noticed this:

Cummins option on RAM 5500 is CAD $26,645


While the same option on 4500 and 3500 C&C is CAD $9,450


For comparison, a diesel option on P/U is $9,450 for the SO and $11,950 for the HO.


Any idea WHY the diesel on 5500 is so expensive? I'm willing to bet it is the exact same engine as on a 4500 but somehow they priced it 180% higher.
