So a little background. We are buying a 5th wheel toy hauler that is pretty heavy. 24k GVW on the trailer and a little over 4k on the pin according to the manufacturer. I need to start looking for a truck to pull it and the RAM 3500 is at thw top of my list, if i can actually find one. Trim wise i would like a Laramie at the minimum and would also like 4wd. I can find quite a few DRW with the max tow package and the trim levels i want but none of them seem to have the 14k package which i need. All of them that i see are low 4k( some less) on the payload which leaves zero wiggle room for passengers in the truck when its loaded up. I feel kind of like im looking for a unicorn at this point. I have been able to find some f-words and some general mistakes on the lot that meet the bill but like i said i prefer the Ram by far as i currently drive one and love it. I dont mind ordering one but before i do i would like to know what these trucks have for a payload when you have that package. I want to make 100% sure it will do what i need. Local dealers have been less than helpful. Does anyone have a 3500 DRW with a Cummins in a Laramie or Limited trim and can they tell me what the capacities are?
Thanks.
Thanks.
