2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

The reason for my persistent pestering of my dealer is the fact that since I ordered the truck I have had zero information about the order or the process and always seem to be ignored. The only updates I have received since I ordered have been from brv10. I send my salesman a text at the beginning of every week because I feel like a weekly “hi how are you” is about normal down here in SC/GA. The 3 weeks has just been 3 weeks since my Monday text has been replied to. The reason for my questions about any kind of date is from the fact that I went D1 on 1/31 (again only know because brv10) and there is no dates listed which from what I can tell people usually get a “scheduled build date” when they go D1 but mine had no date so I called the dealer with questions. I understand that I am still early in the process and I don’t expect my truck now, but I do expect a timely response from the man that will be eager to take my money when the truck makes it to the lot.
I never had a "Scheduled Build Date" - not sure how you would get that - neither my salesman nor I were ever able to find anything relative to build dates. As I said before, there have been some who seem to correlate the POC Est Ship Date with actual Build Date based on observation - did you even get a POC sheet? If not, I would start there or maybe RamChat (though that may be even more frustrating).

The only Dates which I had were Est Ship Date on 2nd POC - which everyone agrees is not worth the paper its printed on and Est Delivery Date after Truck Shipped (which still slipped a week to right).

And if you have followed this forum very long, you know D1 is not a certainty that you are Scheduled for Build - there have been numerous examples of trucks going from D1 back to D and in a few cases to C before moving back to D1 and eventually getting built.

Maybe some of the Pros here can get you an Est Build Date, but my salesman was pretty good in my opinion and we could never get anything like an "Estimated Build Date" or "Scheduled Build Date".

As I see it your best options may be
(a) to chill for a couple of weeks before calling the dealer back in case you have been dumped into the annoying customer bin - let them forget about you for now. As you pointed out you can probably get more info from brv10 and on Tracking sheet as to when it is built and there is nothing you or dealer can do to accelerate the build.
(b) to cancel and reorder thru a better dealer.
(c) The last option in my mind is to go in to dealer and ask to see the Sales Manager and explain your problem - but as I said above there is nothing your dealer can do to accelerate the build - possibly they can provide updated info but that probably will not include a "Scheduled Build Date" and even if it did, it could still shift to right.

Best, Ed

See I wasn’t even given a ship date. That’s why I called the dealer. I just have a D1 status with no dates and that struck me as odd because everyone else sees some type of date
Ask for a copy of the POC if you dont already have one - as a minimum they should provide that.

The Est Ship Date is on top right of POC - but AS I SAID - ITS MEANINGLESS and no one pays it any attention.

I agree with everything said, there’s nothing you can do other than go with the flow, or get off the ride and get back on with a better dealer.

A watched pot never boils, just push it aside for a couple of weeks and try again. If you get the same treatment, then have a face-to-face with the sales manager.

Just curious if Longhorns and Limiteds look like this as well under the glovebox.

Yes they do.

I had to have the dealer fix a bulge in my driver side carpet. They ended up having to put a screw through it to the console brace (they asked me first and it doesn't penetrate the tunnel.)

Tire / Wheel swaps - Does anyone know if Mark Dodge or other high volume dealers do Tire / Wheel swaps on new vehicles - Looking for a set of takeoff Longhorn 18 inch silver with black inset (not walnut) wheels. I have bought takeoffs from dealers at decent prices, but no one local seems to do it anymore. Willing to travel west to Houston, north to Memphis, or east to Alabama, but Mark Dodge is under 3 hours travel.

After a bunch of time spent going back and forth in my mind, I finally bit the bullet and put in an order for a '22 Limited Night edition from Mark Dodge with a bunch of time spent lurking and researching here on the HD forums. Now the start of the wait, which shouldn't seem too bad as I just got done waiting almost 22 weeks for a pair of work boots to be made.

Does the Build Priority number matter on the POC? I noticed on the initial order when I got the VON it was 99, but when I got the VIN it was 01

Mine were the exact same - 99 initially when I placed my deposit and got my VON and 01 a few days later when I got my VIN. Placed my order 11/16/21 and it should be showing up at the dealership any day now. So not sure if those numbers mean anything, but mine moved pretty quickly with those same Build Priority numbers

Renae from MD let me know that my truck received its train ticket and will be delivered to Port Allen on the 15th. Time to start planning my road trip to LA.
How long did yours sit at the plant after it was finished before catching a train to LA?

ACEd how would I know if I’m getting black inset or walnut since it was not an option to choose? Is it based on color scheme of the truck?

I tried to order a truck from several SC dealerships. Some of the worse dealerships in the nation for Customer Service. I finally gave up and went to OH to purchase my truck. What ever happened to Southern Hospitality?

I can confirm this. I live here in SC and found the same problem. Now my truck is at the yard in Port Allen waiting on a ride to MD.

Black inset is default on the 18 inch Longhorn wheels - walnut only if you select white or silver with walnut lower paint. Walnut wheel inserts to match walnut trim paint

BA status means order is pending as I recall - common to see Build Priority 99 before order is confirmed. Should go to 01 once order is confirmed. I believe there was one instance of 99 on one of the trucks lost in the black hole - probably not a good thing if you see 99 after truck goes D

Notified yesterday my truck is at the train yard in Port Allen waiting to be delivered to MD. Order date was 11/17. Laramie HO DRW. Seems several MD Dodge orders are arriving about the same time.
I ordered from them the exact same day and I’m right there with you in Port Allen I hope. Haven’t heard for sure if the train is actually there yet or not.
