2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I say lock in that rate in case rates jump. Mine is good for 90days through Navy Fed. I did it right after it was built and the window sticker popped up. Heading to MD as well.

I’m in that same boat, but only got a ship date of 3/3. Want to get that 1.89 over at USAA, but not sit on it forever.

Actually, the car with your truck in it was constructively placed at Lordstown at 7pm last night. With any luck it’ll find its way on a car carrier today or tomorrow. Congratulations, you are almost at the end.

Thanks for the update. I checked at 5pm last night and it was still in Warwick !

I'd be curious to know where it says this. Most don't get any kind of estimated date until getting to D1...and then sometimes that's a bit of a crap shoot. If you have better info...please share!
Fyi , Every vehicle has an estimated build plan when it's issued a vin...yes .it's a crap shoot for hd trucks anyway..

Cool. Do you have a way for folks to find this estimated date? I don't see anything on my POC that included "D" status with VIN.

What dealer are you going to? I’m waiting on the unloaded call myself

We may be in the same train. Mine is supposed to reach Port Allen tomorrow. I hope it doesn’t take 3 weeks to get back to MD though.
We’re train partners as well. Supposed to arrive at Port Allen tomorrow. The race is on! Mines headed back to NC though.

Just talked to dealership, the train is in town but the truck hasn't been loaded to truck it to the dealership. Hopefully within the next 10 days they say. Yes, this is a killer waiting. Once I get the truck, I may not get out of it for several days just to relieve the pain of the past 4 months.o_O

I found this Bighorn while doing some research on a build. It seems almost perfect for me. I cannot build one similar online due to the availability of the packages on the build site. I'm a big fan of the tech and cameras, but don't really care so much about leather and the fancy stuff. The only thing I really hate is that it does not have BSM. Do you all think I would be better off building a Laramie? Just looking for some opinions on this build. Thanks

A lot depends on pricing and how soon you need truck plus how bad you want BSM.

In my experience trucks in dealers inventory on the lot are going for MSRP or above. If they are willing to deal on truck and/or you need it quickly that enters into decision.

But if your need is not urgent, you can build one for as much as 3 to 5% under invoice at several dealers mentioned on this forum - so even with recent price increases, you could get a lot more for your money vs buying off lot at MSRP. No guarantee but lots of trucks showing up in 10-20 weeks from recent ordering. Plus you could probably get Power Folding mirrors (big deal to me) and Window Sticker would say Built for (your name).

I initially did not want BSM, but it was in a package I got and now I would not want to do without BSM, particularly on a megacab with digital rear view mirror.

I am down in SC and if it makes it to MD before next weekend I am going to get it. A one way car rental from the Columbia airport to the Lake Charles airport is less than $300. Plus it’s a great drive if you are into that kind of thing.

I love the BSM on my 2019 2500. I don't know if I would ever buy a truck without it.

If you are not in a hurry, I would definitely build a new Laramie with the options you want.

Again you said :”almost perfect for me”.

Back on 2019 I was set on ordering a new truck. I end up buying a truck from the dealer lot. It wasn't the color I wanted but it was almost perfect.

Result: I ordered a 2022 3500 in December with the color and options I wanted back in 2019.

Good luck!!!

That would be a nice drive weather permitting - but be aware it often takes a week or more after train arrives to (1) unload train at Port Allen and (2) transport to Mark Dodge.

Ok no worries. If so you’re probably on CSX then? You can call their automated system and get updated location info on the train. 1 (800) 235-2352

Follow the prompts: Location, car initials, car number, done

The automated system can be hard to understand sometimes and slow to update but it’s fairly straightforward.

It must not be on a CSX train. Last information for the rail car I was given was posted on January 11.

Now I am playing the waiting game. Trucks been waiting for a truck to my dealer since 1/14. Anyone know of any holdups at lordstown ohio?
I don’t like hearing that. Mine is still waiting to even catch the polar express to lordstown. My salesman said “oh, it’s built now so it should be here in a couple of weeks”.
12/15 Laramie 6.4 order built 2/1. No BSM, I have convex.

How many miles are on your guys trucks when you pick them up from the dealer? How many would you consider too much? Given these are custom ordered trucks for a specific customer, I see no reason for the dealer to drive them around town, or is there? They are already tested at the factory, then can do their inspections, but is there a driven inspection the dealers do? What would a typicl mileage be on a custom ordered truck picked up from dealer?

My truck had 5 miles on it when I went to look at it when it first arrived. Dealer had to take it out for bed liner and back. Also had them do the level lift. Had 30 miles when I finally took delivery.

Waiting on my 2500 to get here. ordered on 1/10/2022. Have VIN but not much else. Dealership said should be arriving around the first of the month.

I tried to purchase a truck from dealers in SC and no one would help me order. However, one dealer tried to sell me a left over 2019 Power Wagon for 4K over MSRP....... LOL You did the right thing by ordering from MD
