I thought I read somewhere that dealers are only given an allotment of certain options each month. Not sure if it is true but found it strange that one dealer said it was unavailable and a few days I was able to order it from a different dealer.
Availability of options can change on a daily/weekly basis and it's not dealer specific. I would say if the dealer was able to check the box for that option on that day, it was available. It may not have been available at the time you talked to the first dealer. I would want the dealer that said it was available to show me the code for it on the order sheet (POC).
You have the patience of a saint. I don't think I could have waited that long without re-ordering. That amount of time is almost twice as long as they use to take. Mine was 123 days.
I was aware of the options changing daily. The ram box is listed on my poc. It was only one day between talking to the two different dealers. I sent my request to each on the same day. I also received a quote from another dealer several days later. Their quote didn't reflect the price increases that the other two dealers showed. I guess I'm just not sure of how accurate the order software is between different dealers. I'm sure I will get the rambox, just wondering if it is something that is going to make it take longer. I'm only about 3 weeks in from ordering and still D as far as I know.
Their software is the same since they are logging into Chrysler's network directly. Like any option it's all about supply and demand. Only time will tell. The Ramboxes are a popular item and I haven't heard about them holding up any orders. It's mainly the options that use electronic chips that can hold up some options.
Only condition that I am aware of that would exclude RamBox is DRW - were you trying to order a 3500? possibly the dealer accidentally selected DRW?

Yes - I forgot that one - salesman checking either Long Bed or DRW by accident (or any related options that automatically trip those - 50 gallon tank, Max Tow, etc) would negate RamBox availability

Doubtful. She returned a quote for a 2500 CC 6'4" bed all other options minus the rambox. She alerted me in the email that the rambox was on restriction and I couldn't order it. I believe I sent a return email asking if that was all trim levels. She stated that it was and than I should check back the following month. This was mid Jan.
That's kinda why I was asking here, wondering if there were any recent orders with them. Around my area, they are not a popular option. Everybody says they would love to have them but dealers never order them on inventory trucks.

My order was accepted by Ram from my Alberta dealer on the same date. I was told to expect VIN by soonest they end of Feb… you have some waiting to do.
