(Moderators, please move this into the Camera thread if you don't think this warrants a separate discussion..) I'm coming out of a motorhome where I could look at the view behind me at all times while running down the highway. It was helpful to see the overtaking traffic when preparing for maneuvers while towing. It would be great if there was a way to keep my Trailer Reverse Guidance view on the screen while traveling. Maybe there are some corporate lawyers who would disagree. Is there any way to make that view stay on the screen?

For 19-20 (maybe 21?) You can purchase and install a NAViKS box that plugs into the UC4 module/radio and does a MITM (man in the middle) hack to simulate button presses and it will keep the cameras on and also has turn signal cameras (which I dislike.)

AFAIK, they don't have anything out yet for the UC5. I think they're looking for a test mule on the east coast. We had a group buy here last year and had something like 30+ members buy one.

If you have the digital rearview mirror with the trailer camera, you can keep the view up all the time.. assuming you are towing a trailer.

Have you used this feature? I ordered it on my truck but haven’t yet bought the trailer or camera to use it on so I haven’t been able to test it.

I have the digital camera but the view is not what I'm after. It definitely works, but I only have the digital camera that's mounted up in the backup light fixture. It shows more of what's behind me than just looking in the regular mirror, but once you hook up you trailer I don't think you'll see much else. I think the separate digital camera that can be mounted where you want it could give me a continuous rear view, if I mounted it on the back of my trailer and ran the wire up to the truck. I believe it's option XH7 and I thought I was getting it. (I know I'm the only person who got confused about the multiple camera options while ordering my truck.) I think it will be easy to retrofit it, but I haven't looked too hard at it yet.
My plan for the digital mirror and the 'movable' digital camera was to put it in a horse trailer to keep an eye on the animals, and/or set it up in the truck bed looking at the goose ball from the side when hitching up. The main screen cargo camera shows a great view of the goose ball and I'll be able to get straight on the ball but I expect it will be tough to judge when I'm directly under the trailer receiver, i.e. too far forward or back. I'm going to try it a few times before I spring for yet another camera. (I also have the 4 camera kit to provide a surround view of my fth wheel.)
All of this stuff is going to be great for hitching and maneuvering the trailer. What I'd really like while going down the road is that 'Trailer Reverse Guidance' view where your truck and trailer look like a really skinny submarine and you can see back on the lanes to your right and left on a multi-lane highway.
The technology we have in these things today is incredible. I remember when a pickup truck was just a motorized wheelbarrow for hauling crap around the farm. The first pickup ride I can remember was in my grandfather's pre-52 Chevy, hauling live chickens to market. He would have thought floormats were a stupid idea.

Yes, it's one of the best features of my truck. When you get the camera, keep in mind that in reverse the camera will tilt down slightly...so test your mounting location on your trailer before hard mounting it.

This the view from Trailer camera. It plugs in to the connection at the bumper...
Love this feature

And that looks pretty good. It seems it's wide enough to catch the traffic lanes on either side and of course picks up what's directly behind me. It appears I just need to order the trailer camera, and not pursue locking in the Trailer Reverse Guidance view. It's only money.... Thanks for sharing the pictures!
