2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I’m trying to order a 3500 mega cab and they are telling me I can only get the HO engine? Is this true?
First I have heard - mine is 3500 SRW Megacab with SO Diesel but I ordered in September - cant imaging Hemi and SO not available. Only oddity on Megacab is 4WD only and of course 6'4 bed.

The Port Allen rail yard that they unload at is in Louisiana though. It actually has to pass MD on the train from what I have been told.
Correct - Port Allen is on West side of Mississippi River at Baton Rouge. There is also a big holding yard that mine spent several days at in Livonia, La 30 miles west of Port Allen

Just spoke to Ram Chat, my 12/15 order is supposedly in transit with a delivery ETA of 2/24 -3/8. Sure hope it's coming on the rail through Lordstown, OH or Cheektowaga, NY and not on a boat to Curtis Bay, MD.
I ordered the same truck on 12-11-21. Was built 1-17-22. Shipped 1-24-22. Hope to see it by next weekend. It was at the IHB Gibson Yard in Hammond Indiana as of 3am today. Heading towards Lordstown !

Probably a stretch, but someone told me there was a way to track your truck once it’s in the train. All you need is the train car number. He said he found a link through this forum and someone was able to help.

Anyone know about this?

There is no link to be able to track it online. You need the rail car number and then you need to call the rail company and track it through them. You need to know what rail line it is on and car number.

FWIW i just noticed that when building a limited 2500 online, the 12” screen is the only option.

Car dealerships are just like everyone else, struggling to find good help. My rep was good, but young and I felt I knew more about the trucks than he did. But thanks to the research I had done I knew enough to make sure order was what I wanted.
My experience with salesman is 90% of the time is they don't have a clue about what they are selling. Usually the young women salesman are the worst. I won't even talk to a young woman salesman about trucks. Most of the men salesmen aren't much better. I do my homework before I ever go to the dealership and come out looking like a Chrysler rep compared to what they know. The ones that are up front and tell me they don't know much about the trucks, I'll cut them some slack and inform them about their product and see if there is any chance they can help me. The ones that try to BS me I walk away from and tell them not to waste my time. Usually after this confrontation a sales manger gets involved and if he doesn't have time for me one on one he will find me someone that has been there for years and is knowledgeable about their products.
I guess yo can figure out I don't have patience for an uninformed sales man...

Ok. This dude had a notebook with all the stop the train made. Lol. I just want to stalk my truck. Lmao!

Was just told that the train dropped my truck off on Monday and it’s now on its way to the dealership via truck!! This came from Ram Chat so I’m taking it with a grain of salt until I can confirm it, but booooy am I pumped if it’s true!!

My Dealer is great but not sure Ram Cares
@RamCares

Anyone know if its up to the dealership or RAM to ship the truck once its unloaded from the train?
I was underthe impressikn that the dealership was responsibke for setting up and paying for the shipping once it was unloaded at the rail yard.
My dealership is pretty kn top things. Not huge volume there, but they got my truck delivered within 1 week of coming off the train. Cali truck.

this dude is awesome!

Hey brv10 any chance you could hook these guys up with some insider info? Maybe we’ll make HDram believers out of them. Knowledge is power!

My experience with MD was the best. 50 days after I placed my order, the truck was on the lot. Aaron got me another 1k off the price at time of delivery. Ended up 14.25% off msrp.
When did you place the order and take delivery and what was that 1k discount if you don’t mind? Thank you.

Hey Guys, I've been lurking on this thread for several months and I think I'm about ready to pull the trigger on ordering a new truck. I have noticed that a lot of folks are ordering from Mark Dodge, anyone specific I should ask for? Are there any other dealers that folks have gotten deals at? I've heard Andrea a Chapman and then I thought someone mentioned Koons RAM as well.
Renae is who I ordered from and she is awesome. I think all of them at Mark Dodge are awesome. But I really liked her as she kept me informed without me having to ask first.
Im also in Colorado. Rather then get myself to Lake Charles Louisiana I had MD deliver the truck to me at the Houston George Bush airport. Then drove from there to Amarillo TX then up the 287 to the 160 and across back to the 25 and home. Great drive except that Amarillo is not the greatest place I’ve been.
You can not do better then MD. Not only will you get the best price but the customer service is also second to none.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe that Ram handles the logistics on that. I used to haul cars and we had contracts for delivery of certain vehicles to certain areas for the different manufacturers.

Total BS. Of course you could get the SO in the 3500.
You should also go with another dealer. Try Renae at Mark Dodge. She’ll get you 5% under invoice (about 14.5% under MSRP) and steer you correctly the whole way.
PM me and I’ll give you her contact info.

That is the route his truck took which is similar to mine since it is going to Lordstown as well. I have been writing all of the updates down that I get and times. I just don't have as many as this one !

That feature is almost the ONLY non-removable option that made me NOT want a Limited.

I say almost because the Limited interior stitching pattern reminds me of an ex-girlfriends tribal tramp stamp tattoo. Didn't want to look at that for a decade of owning the truck.
