2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Anybody know what this cable coming out of the spare tire is? A sort of lock mechanism? Forgot to ask the dealer. Thx
tire lock, thats dealer installed. My dealer left theirs on too, 4 hours away, i had to cut it off. Would of really screwed me if i got a flat tire, didnt notice it was there for a few months. Its possible they left it on for me, because there was a weird key in the glove box, but i couldnt get it to open the lock. Those locks would never open if you live where their is salt on the roads

Seems to be pretty random - some early issues with Sunroof availability. But pretty much all the other options incl HO and 2WD seem to move about the same (though I dont think I have seen that combination before - but only about 1% of trucks are 2WD). Higher end options (as long as they are available when you place order - recall Power Fold Mirror removal from some option pkg) dont seem to have any direct relation to build - In fact no one has been able to predict the Lottery. I would say order it like you want it.
Thanks - I bet we end up with a 4x4 if only 1% 4x2. :-)

Ok thanks. I would assume mine is in a rail yard somewhere. I live it Pittsburgh Pa but ordered from a dealer just over the state line into Ohio so not sure which yard it would go to.

My guess would be your final rail point would be Lordstown since your dealer is only 30 minutes Southeast of there.

Checked with CSX Railroad and the automated system said that the rail car that my truck is on arrived at PA Trans Negress at 1-24-22 at 8am. Not sure what that means. Anyone know ?
Trans Negres sounds Mexican, it will come in at Eagle Pass, go to Chicago then Lordstown, about 12 days from 1/24.

Did I mention I hate working on Diesels, not to offend anybody.....
@brv10 are you a ram technician? I worked back in 07 to 08 level 4 transmission and heavy line guy for dodge Chrysler jeep. left for military when economy tanked last time. miss my free life but military is a great experience just underpaid for what everyone does. 14 yrs and counting my 3500 drw is going to be my truck towards retirement and travel with I put 5 to 10k a yr on my vehicles if that. 6 yrs till retirement ar age 45 maybe start a second career. or a non profit love giving back toy community and especially vets.

First post, but I've been lurking for a while gathering some of the great knowledge that has been shared here. I placed an order on Monday with @AndreaChapmanScottsdale so now the waiting begins. Fortunately, I love my current truck so I'm not in too much of a hurry. I have one of the last pre-def 3500s and it's given me no trouble at all in 10 years (aside from a few recalls and an A/C TSB), not so much as a rattle.

I really didn't want the safety group, but it seems like the only way to get a chance at getting blind spot monitoring, and I'm too old and lazy to turn my head. I would have preferred the bench seat and the 8.4 display, but wanted the projector headlights which are only available on the L3 package. So confusing, especially with the packages and pricing changing all the time.

Anyway, Andrea has been great to deal with so far, and the pricing was the best I found on the west coast that included price protection. I guess I should add myself to the spreadsheet, and start shopping for accessories!

So after dealing with Ram Chat on Monday I received an email FCA customer service last night. They had contacted the factory and "prioritized" my build. I thought it was just to appease me, and it may well have been. But I just got an email from the salesman at MD letting me know my truck was built an waiting for final inspection and transport. Does anyone know how they transport to Lake Charles?

Does anyone else have a truck sitting in the Detroit railyard? Mine arrived by railcar around Dec 20 and has been sitting there since. I live on the west side of MI only 4 hours away from Detroit and the Ram Service Center has provided me several updated ETA's with the lastest showing a mid-March delivery. Has anyone else experienced the hold up in Detroit?
