2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

For those of you still waiting, like me, here is a video about Saltillo plant. A few years old (still calling it Daimler) but still interesting and a good way to kill 7 minutes of your wait.

Well I was waiting for them to explain the awesome management practices they use. Like I figured they were playing with Lego’s. Apparently I was correct. Definitely not doing something productive like building trucks. More like loosing key fobs. I’m betting the emergency stop cable they showed gets used more then anything else except for maybe breathing.

how or where do we put our vin in to track the different stages of trucks being built?
One truck is currently at D (2500)
and the other is D1 (1500) and was curious to track without hounding MD weekly lol

Salesman actually gave me an update today on my old order. Truck won’t be built until the third week of February due to additional plant shutdowns that are scheduled. That means, by the time it says it will be built my order will be 8 months old. Time to receiving it means sometime late March which would then put it at 9 months.

@OfficerDirtyDanchez I just talked to my dealer. That noise you hear is that of angels singing. I'm in paint as of right now. It has moved the scheduled ship date from 1/23 to 1/22. I'll take every 24 hrs they give me. It will probably take another 3 weeks to ship to KC and then to dealership. Getting excited:D:D:D
Hey Ramping, you misread. Misheard too. That was’t angles singing. I think it was a Saltillo worker having a beer and a fart. Anyhow they meant 1/22/2023. I called them. Told them I was reading your posts and that you were totally ok with waiting more. Even expected a long wait and they were free to sell your truck to someone who was impatient. They were so relieved and asked me to give you their thanks. Glad I was able to clarify for you! What are friends for anyway? You’re welcome.

I'm officially over waiting and it's only been 1 month.....I guess I should've bought the one on the lot for msrp plus

I’m in D1 Gateline status. How long did you guys spend in that status until your build was done?

I have ordered I think four vehicles in my life. Maybe five when I didn’t take possession of the one. There is never been a time that I ordered a vehicle where it only took a month. I think that’s even unrealistic to assume that it would be a month. You have to assume that it’s going to be a minimum of eight weeks. Most likely 12.

I didn't see anything on the schedule, Saltillo?
I wouldn’t know. It was another poster that said he saw some thing like that. I just think it’s wherever Ramping is going to be getting his truck built. You know, ram follows this thread and they saw how happy this guy was going to be so they close the plant down.

Probably a discussion you should have with your ordering dealer, however if they’re worth their salt and are honest, they’ll honor the price you agree upon when the POC is signed by both parties and the down payment is handed over. That’s how it worked with my dealer when I ordered, and that’s how a lot of the dealers are doing it. If they don’t want to agree to honor a price, you can bring up the topic of “price protection” through FCA / Stellantis however it seems that’s a hit or miss discussion. My advice: talk to the dealer and if they agree, get it in writing, and place the order. If they seem sketchy or uncomfortable then it might behoove you to find another dealer. Lots of dealers out there right now selling trucks for agreed price and honoring it, AND giving incredible deals like 4-5% under INVOICE.

This is spot on, don’t leave it up to speculation. Make the dealer commit and put it in writing. Once they present the POC, they can get price protection at time of delivery, despite price increase once order is accepted. They should honor the deal and your and their signatures, if not then they are likely playing games.

Gotta watch those Ram folk :)

My salesman just e-mailed that my truck hit the Pearland TX rail yard at 0800 this morning. This is the final rail stop. He's suggesting to allow 7 to 10 days for a car carrier to get it to them. In an earlier note he said it has actually happened in 1 day, but I think I'll plan for 7 to 10 days.
Many are in the early portion of that window (per my research of tracker spreadsheet). Mine was last day of “estimate”. Feel bad for those that wait weeks for trucking to free up. Good luck!
