What is the best lift kit
Carli is back ordered

I think you have your answer right there. -^

That said there are good manufactures out there but Thuren and Carli know they Ram truck brand very very well. I wouldn’t consider anything other than those two brands.

Not to say others don’t have good luck with other kits but Thuren and Carli place substantial focus and effort on the Dodge / Ram line up.

Not sure about the Bilstein lift and Thuren is always a good choice, but I just received and installed my Carli 3.25" Commuter Lift from Top Tier Suspension out of Missouri. Just checked the site and it looks like they have several kits in stock that will fit your truck (Commuter, Pin Top, etc.).

Note - I am in NO WAY affiliated with Top Tier Suspension...just in case anyone asks!

I can't speak from personal experience on Rams, but Icon has one out and they're pretty much considered the cream of the crop for Toyotas. If I ever lift mine that's what's going on it.

No offense to Icon but won’t compare to the custom tuning that goes into Thuren and Carli.

Thank you for all the insight
i purchase the Bilstein kit will let you know

What makes the tuning from Tauren or Carli any more “custom” than Icon?

Nobody is saying that ICON systems are garbage, it’s just that they are not focused on HD trucks. It is one of those things that until you have installed and ran one of Carli’s /Thuren’s suspension systems you won’t truly understand how well these two companies engineer and real world test their systems before they release them. Pick up a Carli ball joint and compare it to any other ball joint out there, if that alone doesn’t convince you on how well engineered their products are than nothing will.

Carli, as opposed to ICON, started out focusing on nothing but Dodge HD trucks from the start. ICON if I remember correctly started out making suspensions for Jeeps and Toyota’s. These days Carli concentrates on Dodge / Ram and Ford HD systems where as ICON has systems for most brands and sizes of trucks. If you have a wide focus trying to capture the entire market, how can you find the time to perfect just one brand and one size truck?

I didn’t think anyone was saying ICON was garbage, I was truly curious about exactly why Brav said it wouldn’t compare. I wondered if maybe Carli and Thuren had some kind of “special sauce” going on that made them unique in the suspension world.

Your comments make sense. If a company has a smaller focus the odds are they’ll be better at that than others are. Having not ridden in a Ram with a suspension from any of these companies I can’t personally say that one is better than the other.

The special sauce is that they actually spend months fine tuning the coils and the shock tuning and valving for each application. They use custom spec shocks and not an off the shelf parts bin shock. If you tell them “hey I go off-roading, do some high speed desert driving, and carry x load/gear” they will put together the precise components for you. Not just have a one-size-fits-all. Most other companies (cheaper) will simply order a shock from a chart based on generic info without real testing and tuning.

Good to hear. That sounds like a pretty unique offering from a manufacturer.

Did you have to trim anything? If you did, would you mind taking pictures?
