2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Got that hard part done on the new truck, front leveling kit! Will do the 1” spacers tomorrow and I’ll post more pictures. Trimmed the front a little bit and the 37s look good, shouldn’t rub anyway.

Which kit did you go with?

His truck has the cummins ..... and the SRW comes with 3.73. 4.10 is only an option with the dually
I know the 4:10 only comes in the dually but I didn't know what truck he ordered since his order information isn't in his signature. I guess those 3:73 will be fine with those tall tires if he doesn't do any heavy towing.

Hey guys. I'm sure I could probably peice this together from the 1173 pages of this thread, but hoping for a summary. I'm waiting on a 2500 laramie. Dealer is in KY. Where is my truck getting built exactly? And what rail route might it take on it's way to me? Thanks for any help here.
I dont know if there is a unique answer to the transportation question - but - as I understand it from the last 600+ pages -
1. RAM HD Trucks are assembled in Stellantis factory in Saltillo, Mexico
2. From the Saltillo plant, the truck may go out to local secondary vendor for things like bed liner
3. If it goes outside, it is returned to plant for final QC and prep for shipping - at this point it gets a Window Sticker and is designated KZ
4. From Saltillo plant it may go via 3 methods of transport to dealer
4a - The most likely transport is via train - it is loaded on railcar with other vehicles (presumably all going to same railhead). This may take days or weeks to leave plant. Trains often go thru south San Antonio and then cars are split off and assembled into trains going your way via Any of Multiple Rail Routes to a railhead near dealer. It may be switched multiple times or sit on sidings waiting for train to be assembled and again this may take days or weeks - which appears to be random except that the more Trucks going to a single location may get a faster ticket due to logistics issues.
4b - Some trucks have reportedly been shipped by ship to ports on east coast - go figure that one out - no clue as to why not by train.
4c - It has been reported that some trucks headed for dealers near Texas-Mexico border crossing may be trucked directly from plant to dealer.
5. Once truck hits railhead or port, it is unloaded and waits for truck transport to dealer - again this may be a few days or could be weeks depending on destination and trucking availability (there are significant trucking shortages reported) - and again multiple trucks to a single dealer might have an advantage.
All this assumes no problems such as lost keyfobs which have been reported on more than one truck, delaying for months to get replacement keyfobs to get out of railyard / port.
If you can get the Railcar number (from dealer?), you may be able to track specific route (see other postings on tracking).

As to your specific truck, you should fall under 4a above. Someone else who has bought in Kentucky may be able to answer which Railhead your truck will likely go to.

Thanks a ton for this response. This was exactly what I was asking about...the transportation/routing. I'm D1. I'm already on the spreadsheet. Already registered on the website that automates Equipment and Sticker notifications. I went back, and definitely didn't see this transportation information identified on page 1. Thanks for the helpful response ACEd.

Mine was included with the Limited Level 1 package which will also include the second camera in the third brake light. So I may just get the 4 and 7 plugs

I think there was a temporary shortage of the 4/7s but appears to be back in stock now.

Speaking of the cargo camera, I didn’t add it but the CHMSL has a spot for it. Much to investigate when I get the truck.

Idk if it’s my phone or what but I’m having trouble figuring out the equipment and sticker stuff. How did you get registered

Hi, just joined the forum today. I did indeed make a change about 5 days after I ordered to add the cab clearance lights. They contacted the regional rep and got it changed and sent me the confirmation. Build hadn't started yet. I was in D status as well

I submitted a change request on my order about three or four weeks in. There was confusion when building online and side steps coming in packages vs options selected ( I had not selected, and could not deselect, an chrome steps but had selected a pkg with deploying steps…both were on the POC ).

This forum provided me with some great directions on how to resolve it, I contacted Sandi, who put in a change request. Now, the request isn’t a guarantee (50/50 that the factory gets it) AND it was mentioned to me that it could void the “locked in price agreement”. I’m the end it was accepted and did NOT affect my price…my truck is still in “D” status.

I personally thought it would have been more fun to get him to read all 1175 pages like I did :D but I'm sure you saved his day but he will benefit more to go back and read the previous post. There is a lot to learn from what everyone has posted here.

Id say you ACEd that.

Mine was included with the Limited Level 1 package which will also include the second camera in the third brake light. So I may just get the 4 and 7 plug connectors.
Setting aside all of the packages/equipment groups, etc- this will stand true for any 2022 HD Ram, regardless of trim level:
-If the truck is equipped with a digital rear view mirror, it will have the connector port on the driver side of the rear license plate for the wired tow mode camera.
-If the truck is not equipped with a digital rear view mirror, it will have a blank cover on the driver side of the license plate, where the tow mode camera port would be.
-If the truck is equipped with the surround view system for the truck itself, it will have the 12-pin/7-pin trailer connector on the passenger side of the rear license plate.
-If the truck is not equipped with surround view system for the truck itself, it will have the 4-way/7-way trailer connector on the passenger side of the rear license plate.
-Whether or not the truck is equipped with a digital rear view mirror has nothing to do with the 12/7 or 4/7 trailer connector.

So what’s the fastest anyone has gone to D1 to production? I see some that seam to be 3-8 weeks. I’m trying to decide before I cancel since I’m 17 weeks tomorrow still D. dealers rep still won’t try to fix dealers mistake on clicking tow tech that kicked level 1 out that I figured out 2 weeks in that they also clicked on saround view kit $995 digital rear view mirror $945 and trailer camera $545 and only one of those options I wanted was digital rear view mirror. Yes I found the 2500 then that HO pops in back of my mind and I think yes I will sell this one for my ordered one then I go back to the option mistake and I’m upset and also 17 weeks nothing for one single update. Struggle is real but definitely not been a good first time ordering experience

I got the Carli 2.5”. Since I ended up with the air suspension I’m having to add 1” blocks on the rear for axle and air bags. What happened is I ordered the truck with air and a week later decided I didn’t want it, called the dealer to cancel it and got a reply a couple days later that it was cancelled. Ordered the Carli kit and then when I received my build sheet saw that I did end up getting air. No biggie though.
Which kit did you go with?

My KY order was shipped via Union Pacific Railway from Saltillo to San Antonio then to the Hearne, TX yard where it currently sits headed to Memphis, TN for interchange on or around Jan 18. I believe that it will then transfer to the CSX Railway into Nashville, TN.
My dealer says that all of their deliveries are trucked from Nashville.

Why did you try to cancel the rear air? What changed your mind?
