That’s an easy one. Ethical, well maybe not, but business of making money, probably. The dealers buy and sell more vehicles then you buy. They’re probably getting preference. Makes sense too. Dealer stock is very limited. They don’t special order but they do get trucks with varied options and trim levels and they have been waiting longer then us.
I just talked to them and they said my trucks in the trim phase of building lol. my last 8 of my vin are NG158407.
If only there were truth to that… is a base Laramie with 5th wheel prep and cold weather package really too much to ask for? 5.5 months and not even on the schedule. Pretty sure it’s not just high optioned trucThere may be a Common Denominator here.. dont order every extreme custom luxury bs option and expect it there in a month, theres a name for that..
I feel like most of us that ordered a modest optioned truck had it made in what we consider a reasonable amount of time. Or maybe the workers just like building sensible working trucks.
In all honesty the plant is probably just building whatever keeps things moving efficiently. Gotta wait for what YOU ordered. As to not stick someone else with your custom truck and clog up the assembly line multiple times. Just sayin.

Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to post some pics this weekend. Truck is in El Mirage AZ. Not sure if it has been unloaded or not yet. Once it is, a quick trip to Vegas is all that is needed! Finally in the home stretch!

Love them, had them on my V10 Ram also.
The problem was/is, the last 5-7 months there hasn't been anything on the lot to buy. Hence the reason most of us are probably here.
On a Happy Note.....I am scheduled to pick up my truck on Friday. All this whining, figured some good news might bring a little sunshine to the forum. No one forced us to custom order, I could have had immediate Gratification by buying something that caught my eye on a lot. I am just glad to have the opportunity to drive exactly what I want after almost 7 months. Pics promised soon for cheer factor.
