Alfa obd

Ok need help not sure where to look or if this is right place to ask but going to give it a try. My woman’s dad just got a Laramie 2021 used 15,000 miles it was a construction company’s truck. He has buttons for engine brake it comes up saying option disabled. Can I turn it back on with alfaobd? If it’s possible please let me know where to change the settings. I have everything to use it on a 2021 or a 2022. Thank you in advance

Don't think that is a setting in Alfa (I've never seen it).

Did it ever work? Have you scanned for any codes that may be preventing it from working. Any warranty left?

He just got it a couple weeks ago and he said when he pushes button it comes up saying this function has been disabled it has 15000 miles so I’m assuming since it’s a year old and low miles it has warranty left. I was just trying to see if it something that can be turned on and off. I know I wouldn’t want to turn it off it saves the brakes but as said he just got it couple weeks ago and he is learning the truck yet

Hum, wonder if the previous owner did some "mods" and screwed it up. Is it completely stock under the hood? Has it been tuned, I think a tuner is the only way it could be disabled (unless there is a fault perhaps) ?

Far as I know all stock but as said it was a construction company maybe they had it turned off at dealer. I know the company I drive semi for they use to have their trucks disabled for engine brake they all came with it just didn’t have on for what ever reason idk

Can't imagine why in the world they would do that? Let us know how you make out, will be curious to see what is was.

The exhaust brakes are sometimes disabled on commercial vehicles. You will need to see a dealer s this would be a ECU modification.

Alright thank you I will let him know he will have to go to dealer to fix
