2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I have to agree with you especially about the social security number. I guard that number and my phone number with my life and I'm even careful about what companies I give my zip code too. I hate advertisement. I consider it an invasion of privacy. You also know that when you give your social security number to a company like that they will run a credit check and your credit score takes a hit. I would have to know the rates in advance before I would give them any kind of information.
So, how many here remember the days when it was illegal for companies to use you SS # to identify you/credit check or anything else besides being able to receive SS benefits.

I don't remember that but I do remember when it was a common practice to put your SS number on your checks. That was back in the 60's and early 70's. My first checks had that number in the upper top left with my address and phone number. My have times changed. I wouldn't do that in a million years now. Now back to the main topic...

Just went to True Car, got $500 bonus cash. Took less than a minute. My offer is good till 1/31. I'll take it into dealer to see if they will honor &/or apply to my POC. I won't get the truck till MAYBE Feb if I'm lucky so not sure if this one works, will need another when the truck arrives or if I just shot myself in the foot and once its gone, its gone.

I did the same thing shortly after I ordered. Was told that they couldn't apply it until the truck was delivered and I was buying it. Figured I'd just apply for a new one once the truck arrives since the one I orginally got expired.

Ramchat has confirmed all parts have been gathered and should be scheduled for build soon.
Does this mean D1 and should I contact dealer for est build date?
C6UR5TL1NG196681 2500 Limted MC, ordered 11/09
When ramchat gave me that status, the dealer was able to provide a screenshot that showed D1 along with the estimated ship date.

But you had to give your social security number. I don’t like that part without knowing a close approximation of the rate I’ll be getting. Especially since they probably don’t tell you about the 60 days till after they have your SS number, which for me is too late. Plus the deal is you pay $20/1000 borrowed on a 60 month loan. So less on a 72 month loan. $500 would probably save me $5/month. I’ll live. Sure I would like it but I’m not into playing their game without communication.
My truck should be at dealer by the 24th. I know it was KZT a few days ago.

Pen Fed only does a soft pull on your credit. There’s no hard inquiry. I called them on the phone to be sure and they were super helpful explaining this exactly. Hopefully you have some better luck with them or the TrueCar one since $500 is still worth $500. I believe my Pen Fed offer expires in March as well. I bank with Navy Fed and so far they are almost exact with their rates.

Brv, could you possibly help me with an update? Last I heard right before Xmas was scheduled for production. Ordered 11/26 2500 Laramie Mega cab hemi with 4.10

Lol thank you this is my first rodeo as far as ordering goes
If you just got your VIN today, I wouldn’t worry about checking any status for at least 8-10 weeks! I know it’s hard, and you build it up inside your head that “maybe not me, maybe I’m special or lucky, or especially lucky” and you will magically get a built status after 4 weeks. I did same thing. Best thing is just forget you ordered the truck. Spend precious energy on pondering other things. In 8-10 weeks, email/call your salesman and he should be able to get you an update (more than likely he won’t know anything and will tell you to reach back out in a couple more weeks). You can also check RamChat but I wouldn’t advise it until your dealer gives you a possible build date. This will save you tons of heartache! God speed to you!!

Thought I just saw something from USAA about 1.89% for 72 months.

What’s the deal with PenFed? I’ve noticed it in posts awhile back, but haven’t really researched it.

Looking at doing some research on these rebates. I know that most have stated that Ram is NOT honoring rebates at this time, but some dealers are. I had originally been tracking the military and farm bureau discounts, but it seems there may be a couple more I’m unaware of.

Thank you
Actually your dealer is your best source for updates. Just remind them their survey rating is based on their customer service and updates is part of it. Just read through the post on here and learn the status codes and various other information so when you talk to your dealer you will know what to ask for and understand what he is telling you.

I’ve never opened a bank account where I DIDN’T have to give social sec #. I’m not sure of the game, but I didn’t have to play one. It was fairly easy to sign up. Good luck with your truck and God Bless!

You sign up for a PenFed savings account. Deposit $5 into the savings account. Wait 60 days (if your truck comes in before 60 days, it would be worth it to NOT have the $500 off ). Once your truck is delivered or almost delivered, go to the PenFed website and receive the activation code to give to the dealer. The codes have expiration dates, so don’t apply for it too early.

You will hear people talk about the PenFed discount or the Truecar discount. They are one in the same. It’s a PenFed Truecar discount.
