I love my digital rear view mirror during the daytime.

However, at night the digital rear view mirror provides an image that looks "foggy". I've clean the lens area at the back of cab and still have the same issue.

Is this normal or should I have the dealer address this?

TIA

That’s how cameras work in the dark.

Maybe but my cheap home security cameras are much better at night than my RAM.

Just saying..

Those have night vision sensors. The Ram cameras are probably the cheapest cameras they could find at the moment lol. In all seriousness security cameras would be useless without hose little red lights that light up at night when triggered.

Have you adjusted the settings? I haven't used mine at night...I may see what it looks like tonight. There are no lights at night at my house except for my LED security light so it should be a good low light test.

The rear view digital mirror is still a regular mirror. At night I turn off the camera and have a normal mirror using the on/off switch on the bottom of the mirror. You might need to rotate the mirror upwards to actually see a reflection in the mirror. Once adjusted for the normal mirror function, I don't change the angle when I turn the camera rear view back on during daylight hours.

Most home security cams have infrared lights to provide illumination. I doubt the rear view camera has those lights.

I don't have the digital rearview mirror in my 2022 3500 Bighorn, but I can tell you that my backup camera in my 2019 2500 Bighorn was clear as day compared to my 2022 truck. It's like they went from 1080p in 2019 back to 420p for the 2022 trucks on the backup camera clarity. I looked to see if there was a part # change between the years to see if I could get an older camera to install, and nope same part # for 2019 and 2022.

I saw a post somewhere by a guy who claimed to work for the company that assembles the radios - he was saying its a known issue and its a software issue with the uconnect 5 but they haven't found a solution yet.

Absolutely agree with this! I came from a 2019 1500 ram and backup camera was much clearer. The 2500 is more grainy and cloudy looking on this as well as the other 360 view cameras.

When I first got the truck i thought it was just me - but the back up camera is not as clear as my 2021 for sure.
