What did you do TO your RAM today?

I added a cheap and simple visual upgrade, a black 4" to 6" bolt on exhaust tip that slides directly onto the factory tailpipe and gives a bit of a more finished look. Literally a 60 second install with a 17mm socket and ratchet. It saddens me that you can no longer buy an MBRP straight pipe exhaust system and get some old school diesel exhaust sounds. At least I can make it look a little better.

Can you believe the Black Exhaust tip on the Canadian Amazon is $80....what a rip!

Installed a Lear Latitude soft, tri-fold bed cover with Cync latch feature. Part number 630137. Don't have any photos as it was dusk by the time I got done. I'll get some tomorrow

Here are my pros and cons about the cover:

Cons:

Stitching around the sides of the cover is the typical 2 lines. Coming from a Rugged Liner cover that has 4, I am hoping two does not mean the vinyl will start to pull away more easily.

The tailgate seal is questionable. It's a piece of vinyl rolled into a tube and sewed to the cover vs. a rubber lip as I've seen on other soft folding covers. When the tailgate is close the tube is just flattened onto itself and really has no "spring" in it to help it seal. How well it works remains to be seen. The couple other soft fold covers I've seen use a stepped lip seal that seals well when the tailgate is closed. Usually, 1 long lip furthers back and then 2-3 shorter ones towards the front. They all curl forwards and seal to the top of the tailgate when it closes.

The front seal where it rests on the front of the bed could be made with a better water/dust seal that holds itself down against the top of the front rail and near the middle would actually fold down around the edge. The Latitude just has a short, flat flap of bed cover vinyl there that does not curl downward at all, it just lays there flat. If anything, the water will hit is and either sit there or flow back towards the cover.

The cover on the sides where the tri-folds are seems to come loose when I fold it. After closing there are bumps there that smooth out if I press on them after unfolding the cover. Not sure if that's normal or what. I'll take some photos and get in touch with Leer.

When folding open the cover, have to be a bit careful to keep the cover from twisting. I've not looked at this closely to see why it's that way. Maybe I need to fold from a different point vs. how I've done my Rugged Liner cover that I had on my '06.

It's quick to remove the cover but the rear latches that clamp to the bed rail still remain installed so unless you want to remove them using the allen key, those could still be in the way of any cargo you haul. My Rugged Cover had left and right rear latches that hook under the bed rail so nothing was left behind when you removed the cover.

Pros:

The material is very thick. Should hold up really well to the elements. I have not driven it to see if it flaps much but I expect it won't as it's very taut.

The Cync latch system works as advertised. I can release it from either side and then fold open the cover without having to go to the other side. At first, I was skeptical of this latching system but after some adjusting it seems to be working properly. Hoping it will hold the rear of the cover down well enough to seal out most water.

The main front latches are aluminum where they hook under the rail so there is no worry about them breaking when tightening down the cover to get a good seal of the front section on the sides and front.

The seals appear to lie flat on the bed rails on front, left and right.

The cover I wanted was from Rugged Liner but they are discontinuing making them, at least for the Ram line but maybe all together. If anyone comes across an FCD6509 cover confirmed to be in-stock somewhere, let me know!
Here are some photos. After driving it today at speeds over 45-50 mph I notice a thumping sound. Turns out the cover flaps quite a lot and being it is a thick, heavy vinyl, it makes a noticeable noise inside the cab. I heard it with the radio off. Yeah I know, turn up the radio, blah, blah, blah. I've emailed Leer about it so will see what they come back with. There was a review on Amazon about the same thing. The photos with the review showed a crew cab but seems the mega cab does the same thing.

I also noticed when closing the tailgate that the tailgate cover front edge hits the lower edge of the cover, but the tailgate is able to push the cover up and slide under it. I am a bit concerned that over time that the lower edge of the bed cover might wear out in the middle.

What size tires and wheels? And if you don’t mind, how much was the Thuren leveling kit.
Stock 18” wheels and 275/70-18 tires, which are stock. The front coil springs, all 4 shocks and track bar was $1410. The sway bar ran another $550. I purchased it all directly from Thuren. Great customer service, fast shipping and I believe they still don’t charge tax.

Did anyone install this grille guard? I wanted to know how it looks on a truck and what is a build quality of this product.

I gave my truck some raccoon eyes today, lit with some DD H11 LEDs. Some before and after comparing the chrome halogens with the night editions..

@flan that looks good. Those accents on those lights goes with your front end better than the chrome ones

With 1400 miles on my new 2022 The front tires were feathering pretty insanely hard on the outside 2 rows, so I took it to my cousin and had him line it up to Thuren specs as close as he could.

He also rotated my tires.... look at what the Krown did to the inside of the front wheels that are now on the rear! The oil sucked up all dirt within 3 counties of me! For some reason the rear wheels that flipped to the front don't have near the oil and dirt. I'll get those all cleaned up tomorrow.

I was about to do an oil change and found a small oil leak, so I made an appointment with my local dealer. I will have them change the oil when they fix the source of the leak.

Not much changed it appears. Maybe the caster and slight toe change on the right front will help. I have some feathering on my DRW fronts also so im interested to hear what happens on yours after the alignment shop's changes.

How did they increase the toe on the rear and why?

how dId the ride quality change? How level was the 1.75 lift? I assume you used their track bar? I am contemplating doing what you did with 295/60/20 or 295/65/20 AT3s on stock rims. I Have the off road package and my local shops is wanting to do a spacer lift to get use out of the existing shocks and springs since they are new. I will be towing 80% of the time and this truck will not be a daily driver. I do not want to sacrifice ride quality or tow capacity. do you or anyone have thoughts on just a spacer lift with shock extensions? i have heard a mixed review of whether the 295/65/20 AT3s would rub. I do not want any rubbing.
thanks
