I'm not replacing wheels. I'll keep the Alcoa wheels that come in the truck.will those fit on the stock 6" wheels or are you replacing the wheels too?

Not a problem. Look, for around 60 years or more people have been putting 33x12.5 and 35x12.5 tires on factory truck and jeep wheels. The world never ended, the tires went round and round and baby seals didn't die.View attachment 26825
per the website the approved wheels size for 17" 6.5 - 8 in is that not a problem? i would love those tires too but that concerns me.
It took 3 weeks to get my Ridge GrapplersUpdate for those interested... Desert Rat Off Road order for the MT Baja Boss AT in 255/85R17 is back ordered; at least 12 weeks out. Just like everywhere else.

Im currently running that tire myselfI plan on going with Nitto Ridge Grappler 255/80R17 in a few months. Here are a few pictures I snapped of someone elses 2020 Ram 3500 a couple of months ago. He told me they are installed on stock rims With Out Spacers and don't rub anywhere. He was in a hurry for an appoint or else I would have gotten more pictures

Looks good. Do you have a pick from behind the truck. I would like to see that profile. I don't want a tire that sticks out, I am using t truck to tow my 5th wheel which weighs about 20000 pounds loaded.Im currently running that tire myself

Thanks for the pics
Are you running a spacer with the 255/80-17's?.....I think these are about 20MM (3/4") wider and 32MM (1 1/4") taller than the stock 235/80-17's.....this is the size that I was thinking about going to once my OE tires wear out or need to be replaced. Thanks for the pics....if you get a chance can you take a pic between the DRW's...I'm trying to see how close these make the gap. Thanks again for the pics.

I didn't think so....my only concern with running this size (I'm sure many others are running them without and issue) would be due to the tires being closer the build up of heat while hauling a load/towing heavy. I really don't want to run spacers. No, I am not running any spacers
So far, no issues for me, but I'm currently not towing over 10,000 pounds. Others here, running the same size tires, are towing 15,000 or more with no issuesI didn't think so....my only concern with running this size (I'm sure many others are running them without and issue) would be due to the tires being closer the build up of heat while hauling a load/towing heavy. I'll try and grab you a pic this morningI would like to see a picture of the space between the tires as well. I think
you would need some type of spacer if you are narrowing the gap between
the tires when installing the 255/80-17's. By narrowing the gap a little over 3/4"
(20mm = .787"), I would think you would be getting pretty close to rubbing when
you are loaded.

Did you need to trim the wheel studs to make the spacers fit?I run 1/2" spacers with the 255/80r17 RG. I wouldn't do without them even if some say it is okay. Remove 1/2" to that gap and they would be terribly close.
