2022 Power Wagon order what are the must haves

Center console was a must for me, but you're all set with a L3. Side steps for the wife and young kids (try buckling a car seat without something to step on...). It's a large truck, so I really wanted the towing technology group for the surround view camera. Bed utility group is reasonably priced for everything you get so it's a smart add.

I LOVE the idea of the ram boxes, but I wanted to save some of my limited payload in case we ever wanted to get a small travel trailer, so I decided against adding them.

Unless you live in a place that is sunny 95% of the year (ie, Southern California), then its better to just pass on the sunroof.
Anybody here know anything about Sherpa winches? I’m getting a Ram 3500 diesel, live in Colorado and make it off road often enough. Truck is about 8000lb. Ram 3500 diesel.
I used my last Warn winch several times but the price on the Warn 16.5 Ti is close to 3k and although they make good stuff they’re WAY over priced and their website is all but useless and I’m assuming aside from their staff the company that owns Warn is probably a nightmare.
I’m thinking a Sherpa Steed 17,500 winch is the ticket but it’s hard to find much info. It’s Australian made, ships free to the US and seems in what I could find out performs the rest. Also they use the best Solenoids made and have an IP68 rating, NOT MADE IN CHINA like Smittybuilt and Superwinch both are. They are also IP67 and use a Chinese solenoid. I know the Superwinch and Smittybuilt gets some good reviews and is a 2nd choice but overall it seems the reviewers are biased. Obviously a winch is important. Anyway if you guys have some info I’d appreciate it.
You pay for what you get. Warn has a lifetime warranty and its history of performance was good enough to put it in the Power Wagon.

Sherpa is an AUS company but their winches are made using Chinesium.

No their winches are not using chinesium. Well at least they say the’re not. I’m betting a bunch of stuff (like the solenoids) in Warn are Chinesium. That being said I’ve only run Warn. They’re great. But for the 16.5 Ti they want $2600. They are way too expensive nowadays and you’re paying for the name. Plus their website sucks so bad even their employees are complaining.
Maybe I’m taking a risk, but I’m willing to. From everything I read and saw these Sherpa winches are great. Better then the smittybuilt and the Superwinch which are both made in China And more money.

Sunroofs are funny.. I never had one until a few years ago and while I never open them I do like the extra light they let in. So I thought it was a must for me. But then I test drove a Rebel G/T without a sunroof and realized on geez.. they don't really add that much.

Might feel different if it was a full length like the newer 1500s have.

Dealership called yesterday and they have a white level 3 PW coming in, it has a Tow Tech package, led in bed with liner. I might take that one and they are going to see if they can do a rim swap for the beadlock ready wheels. Again I'm not that sold on those wheels anyway as I'd love to get the AEV wheels.

I live in sunny SoCal and didnt want a sunroof.
I almost didn’t get the sunroof. I rarely use mine. But when you want it it’s nice. And I used to live in sunny SoCal. San Fernando Valley actually and it gets stupid hot there!
That being said, it’s probably not worth it. I said yes at the last second. It was only a grand and with An $83,000 vehicle order you should have everything.

Sunroofs are funny. Everytime you open it, the sun is at the exact right angle to laser beam you in the eyes.

I’m so short (5’10”) that any vehicle I have the sunroof is behind my head anyway because I have the seat moved up.

You gotta know your budget and usage You want to order Options that are more expensive / more difficult / impossible to add later

LED bed lighting (cheap and awesome)
Cab clearance lights (pain to do later if you didn’t order them and want them)
Aux switches (pain to add)
Sunroof if wanted (no for me on a truck)
Ram boxes if wanted (I don’t like them but you might)
Etc

I ordered mine with everything I want and nothing I did not want. I mainly picked the PW due to always wanting one, not wanting to pull my taco crawler with the TRX, needing to replace my spare truck. I ordered level 2 with bench seat as I wanted the manual 4WD(I prefer center consoles as all my trucks have had center consoles but the auto 4wd was a deal breaker for me). The 360 camera, dual alternators, blind spot and spray in bed liner a must in my eyes. I never knew I needed these items until I bought the TRX that has the 360 camera, blind spot and spray in bed liner.

On the PW you can't go wrong on how you order it. I would order it on what fits your wants and needs out of the truck. Make sure you look up all the options that is offered on the PW before you order, so you order it on what you need and want.

You can get the center console on level 2 package.

The power wagon does not have an auto 4x4 feature that I know of. Push button 4x4 has been around for quite some time.. Also rock crawler dude.......all power wagons come with cab clearance lights standard and aux switches are not an option on them so the op couldn't get those if he/she wanted.

I don't understand that logic of no aux switch group. In a truck almost guaranteed to get aux lighting, why isn't this even an option. I have the factory switches on my JL which are fused and relayed already and adding things is a breeze. Oh well

My understanding is the connector that contains the wiring for the lockers and sway bars on the power wagon models is normally used for the aux switches on all the other rams. Remember the Power Wagon is relatively low volume compared to all other models, so they are attempting to save production costs by using existing wire looms/connectors. Unfortunately, this means we can’t get the aux switches on the power wagon.

Yeah it certainly is crazy they don't offer the aux switches but honestly, it doesn't bother me too much. I normally use something like the s-pod (only a brand like auxbeam) on my rigs to keep my aftermarket wiring as separate from the factory as I can.

Is it a Tradesman with Power Wagon package? They are standard on Power Wagon trim level trucks, but added separate on Tradesman PW package trucks.
