2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I'm beginning to believe that maybe, just maybe, my dealer isn't being honest with me. I purchased from a small hometown dealer 500 miles from where I currently live. They didn't ask for a deposit (His sister who also works for the family owned dealership and my sister are best friends since grade school 40+ years) (I went to school with his dad, but we didn't hang out together), but I insisted I provide a deposit anyway to secure my purchase.

With help from Members on this Forum my truck was tracked to the final Rail Yard destination and was unloaded from the rail car over a week ago.

I recently sent several texts over a 3-4 day period to my dealer contact (Sales Manager and Owners Son) who up until now always answered within a few minutes. This time he didn't answer any of my texts.

He originally didn't have any 2022 Ram Trucks on his lot when I made the purchase. A week ago I searched his website checking for inventory and found he had several 2022 RAM Trucks for sale so I know they recently got delivered. I'm beginning to think my truck was also in this mix, but after calling the dealership, he states he hasn't been able to get mine delivered from the Rail Yard.

He made excuses he couldn't answer my texts because his son dropped his phone into the bathtub and just today got a new phone. He also stated he was not allowed to contact the delivery company who delivers to his dealership so his hands are tied but, he would contact his rep and try to get me an update.

According to him the units on his lot were invoiced first, therefore delivered first. I'm calling BS because I believe RAM loads trucks on rail cars according to destination. In other words every truck loaded on that one rail car was destined to the same general location. I also know from reading information on this Forum from awesome members RAM also invoiced the dealer for my truck before it ever left the factory for the rail journey.

Does anyone know how long RAM gives the dealer to pay the invoice? 30, 60, 90 days or maybe longer?

The sheet does not seem to be moving.. So I am guessing the plant is down till after New Years.....

Dealer said it’s possible they are off this week that ford and Chevy are not running but didn’t know about ram.

For what it’s worth I was told the plant will shut down first week of January for maintenance.

As of today 337 delivered out of 759 ordered (May-Dec) - but more significantly 305 of 484 ordered May-August or 63% (214 since 11/30) - sucks for remaining 37%, but 456 out of 484 or 94% built with an improvement of 148 or nearly 1/3 of those since 11/30.

Sept-Oct orders 64% built, 20% delivered

Much Progress but Still no excuse for early orders not built yet = 1 May + 7 June + 9 July + 12 August orders.

You might want to re-check your numbers. Mine is a 2500 MC Hemi .... Big Horn, ram box, NE, and still not delivered yet. Expected to be at the dealership @1/6 (ish)

I'm guessing it's a formatting discrepancy somewhere in the cells. When sorting like I did, it appears some entry's aren't being grouped correctly.

Lets think about 30 weeks - Every time I hear that talk, I get upset - are there people with a valid complaint - YES - but there is a lot more to the story.

No orders were taken for 2021's in late part of that cycle due to lack of parts. Orders placed from May were for 2022 model. Production of 2022 model was not planned to start until 14 weeks later in August, assuming parts availability improved. First 2022s were started in mid August followed by an almost immediate 1 week shutdown of the line due to parts availability. 2021 trucks were being completed and shipped concurrently.

We are 19 weeks (less 1) into production and 98% of the May orders are built, and 96% of the June orders, 94% of the July orders, and 90% of the August orders are built. And at least 63% of those (probably more) are delivered. Some additional trucks may be delivered but buyers have not posted again once they got truck. Delivery issues seem to be a significant factor beyond RAM control with trucks stuck at railhead waiting to be trucked to dealers.

Should the early orders all be built? Probably - no one can seem to figure out a valid reason why some seem to have fallen into a black hole.

But they seem to be ramping up and I would not assume the average build of an order placed after production started would fall outside the 12-16 week estimated window I was given - mine was actually 10 weeks and 2 days. Will yours take 20 weeks - maybe. There seem to be some shortages of specific parts again.

But 30 weeks - unlikely barring another line shutdown / parts availability disaster.

And technically, these are not "paid for" - a deposit yes - but I had one on dealer lot sold out from under me after I had put a deposit on it. To me thats more of a fault, but its not RAM, its the specific dealer who would have been happy to take an order, but did refund deposit..

Those percentages are also based on the forums spreadsheet correct? So in actuality, there are probably hundreds if not thousands more orders mixed in without orders on the spreadsheet.

It’s been 21 weeks and 4 days since order for me, for any new orders out there. Some go faster and some go way slower

Yes I’ve talked to my dealer they are small ram dealer large Chevy GM dealer so sadly I’ve learned more on here about ordering then I’ve gotten from them. When I talk to them they use GM for examples of wait they hardly have rams on the lot for inventory but they offered the best deal in area so decided to go local. Wish I found this group sooner before ordering because I been ordering from different dealer just to save the maybe $3000 more off sticker to deal o was offered. The rep has no answers don’t try to get any answers for the dealer. Ram chat gave me a control number around November 8 I’ve received 0 responses from the so called prioritized team to look into the matter I’ve even called and got told we will email you with an update soon as we have one. So I still wait no honest response to info on why I have no movement so I keep asking once a well you every 2 weeks on ram chat for any updates. I get great news you are now on the scheduling phase…. and then I respond so it’s still there and hasn’t moved? Them I see you have a control number we will note it that you still want an update on your order… so nothing at all sucks again I will apologize for my rant about this negative experience so far
Have you tried asking @brv10 if he can find something out?

Correct

He has confirmed I’m stuck in gathering parts phase but that’s been couple weeks ago now but no other info as of yet. Also want to add I have not asked for anymore info either but always appreciate any and all help from everyone on this group

Built 12/9 and supposed to arrive at port today according to Sandi. Up to 3 weeks to deliver to MD, so I am looking at mid-January dealer arrival. (I do have the "large dealer bonus" there)
Hmm. Sandi said mine had been released by the plant on 12/14. I wonder if mine is showing up today too. I need to check in with her.

Mine too !! Peterson Dodge ?
Yes Sir - shopped around in Montana, but no one could follow up (wasn't tire kicking, just trying to order a truck). I even called the Texas dealer I previously ordered 2 from ....crickets. Peterson called me and followed up and I have been pleased so far.

Mine was loaded on a train on 12/16 and I believe was offloaded at Port Allen yesterday, 12/27, according to the rail car tracking. Now the up to 3 week wait for it to be transported to Mark Dodge.

Just found out that the unions are off all week for Christmas so no production will/should be happening this week.

Agree - lots of things beyond control of manufacturers from parts to delivery - and anyone who was led to believe they would have their May 2022 orders before the August-September time frame was mislead by sales people - but still more and better info after production began in August and priority to those early orders would have been a smart move on the part of Stellantis
I knowingly ordered early (pre-ordered) mid July. I configured a 2021 and was in the bubble where they shut down the orders. I certainly wasn't in a hurry as my current truck runs great. With that said, I configured a 2022. Never expected my truck to be completed in Aug/Sept/Oct when the production didn't begin until late August. What I did expect was some sort of FIFO process (I know the May thru June people hear that loud and clear).
Most important, I expected a hint of customer service for spending a huge amount of money and being a multiple time return customer. Prior experience, I was able to watch my truck through each stage of the build process by logging into my account . It was self service, but provided the info I was looking for. RAM was FCA owned at that time. They were built in the same plant south of the border. Congratulations Stellantis - this one is on you that @RamCares doesn't care.
Customer loyalty and a good product are a lot like being in love....... Even if you Love them you will only take so much before you kick em to the curb ;)

Yes no production, but already built orders that are sitting in QC might see some movement. I got called in to do QC on another product line this week to keep something’s moving to make the quarter end financials look better and run a few more off the lot and off the books before year end.
