2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Painted bumpers are fairly easy to address if you are worried about chips. My 2020 3500 truck was purchased out of state and the chips drove me nuts on my 2013 3500 so I knew it was going to be an issue. I purchased temporary PPF off of Amazon, took it with me on the flight to pick up the truck, the wife and I installed it in a parking lot (looked bad but served it’s purpose) and drove 1200 miles home. Once I was home I had a local PPF shop install PPF on the bumper, he said it’s the first time he had seen a painted bumper with no chips. I will do the same on my 2022.
Can you point me to your choice on temp PPF? I am between that and straight-up blue painters tape...seriously. I only have about 15+ miles to go from dealer to home...but another 50+ from home to PPF shop. So......looking for those options you said.

That Olive Green looks pretty good. Sometimes it's hard to picture these colors until you see them in person or at least a good quality photo. The royal blue looks way better than I imagined it would. I'd love to have a black truck but that wouldn't work very well as a work truck and occasional off road vehicle.
I really wanted the low volume orange color but it wasn't available at the time. Call me crazy but with dark tinted windows, a lot of chrome and polished aluminum wheels, that orange would look sharp.

My buddy has a “Built to Serve” 1500 with this Navy “Haze Grey” that I wish I could’ve got. It’s a little darker than the “Smoke” color on the Challenger, but that grey in a NE would be amazing.

I ordered billet silver but would have ordered this color in a heartbeat given the opportunity.

YES!!! This color is what I interpreted when I saw the Billet Silver with NE, even after owning a Silver Hemi I was puzzled. After looking at the color at a dealer I changed to Black.

I wish they would’ve thrown these colors out there though, the muted OD Green, Tan, and grey monotone looks awesome.

That Haze Grey looks good!

Good things come to those who wait.

Thanks to this forum I have my dream truck. I was going to settle for used and higher mileage that I liked before getting Mark Dodge’s pricing. My local Southern California Ram dealer contact whom I have purchased numerous fleet and personal Rams from would not budge from MSRP and would only do MSRP if I special ordered.

Special thanks to OfficerDirtySanchez for all his work on the tracking sheet, it was extremely valuable to me, my hats off to you sir! And BRV10, your updates once the truck had shipped were super helpful in my planning my flight to Louisiana.

3500 Laramie HO Cummins Crew Dually 4x4
Dealer: Mark Dodge
Ordered: 7/30/21
D1: 10/28
Equipment Listing: 11/16
Estimated Build Date: 11/17
Window Sticker11/21
Dealer ETA: 12/7-12/24
Arrived At Dealer: 12/8/21
Picked Up: 12/24/21

Just under 19 weeks from order date to arriving at the dealer.

I feel for all you early orders who still have not taken delivery, the wait is worth it! I waited almost exactly 2 weeks to pick my truck up from the dealer that was probably the hardest wait of all knowing that it was sitting there waiting for me and I had already paid for it!

The stock wheels and tires were not even on for 24 hours, I drove straight to Baton Rouge to get wheels tires and leveled. I had intentionally stalled my trip to pick the truck up so that I could surprise my daughter who was going to be alone in Austin, Texas for Christmas. I love this truck but I was looking forward to seeing her more than anything. This has been her dream truck for years and is on her vision board still so of course I had to let her drive it (I need to order my AMP steps ASAP as all 4’11” of her has a hard time climbing in). 1,000 miles on her already and no major complaints yet. The 12” screen has glitched a few times but when you consider what it is and that my brand new iPhone has had glitches as well you can take it with a grain of salt.

We even got to take it on the track at the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin Texas on Christmas Day for their Christmas light event. We didn’t get above 60 miles an hour but it was still pretty awesome taking the big dually for a lap around the race track!

I had my mind made up on a pearl white with the night edition until I saw the chrome on the !Laramie next one in person. Call me old school but the chrome and the semi wheels still does it for me.

And before the mirror comments start I have always run with the moose ears out beginning with my very first 2003 3500 Dually………. I’ve heard all the ghost trailer comments and I really don’t care how they look when they are out, you can just plain see better with them up and that’s all that matters to me!

Sorry for the long post. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

Very nice. I was just there on the 25th. If I woulda know about it, I woulda taken mine to COTA as well. Guess I shoulda looked to see what they had going on that day. Was just too busy scouting out property anyhow. Nice truck. Enjoy!

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like your opinion man.;)

I guess it's ok if you were in the Navy and want your truck to look like a battleship.

I kinda think the same thing every time I see a Cement Tacoma. Did they forget the actual paint and just clear over the primer?

My trucks initial ETA was 12/14-12/27. The truck has been sitting at the railyard a hour away from the dealership since the 14th. Planned a trip for the 29th to pick up the truck. Checked this morning and new ETA is 12/27-1/6. Looks like my trip is screwed

Don’t take comments on painted vs not to mean you should regret anything. You should see them as a heads up to be prepared for it to either wear as we’ve experienced, or take precautions so that it doesn’t. Had I known they were going to be an issue I would have taken the truck straight to PPF from the dealer, and I would have been more careful about driving near other vehicles and getting the film replaced as it wore. I love the look, but decided I’d rather not have the extra headache… especially since I like to keep my stuff as mint as possible.

I said I wouldn't complain any more, but I can't control my anger any longer. I hope Ram is monitoring this forum. You DO have a good product, but your build and deliver process is a total clusterbomb. I just got another email from Stellantis Customer ******** Center that my truck delivery date (ordered May 17th, mind you) has been delayed AGAIN until January 10th and I expect it will be delayed BEYOND THAT. EIGHT MONTHS ?????????????????????? SHAME on RAM/STELLANTIS for holding me over a barrel. If it ever comes in, Stellantis SHOULD pay ME to take it. THERE IS NO EXCUSE IN THIS UNIVERSE.

Just got this from my dealer. The transport truckers don't want to haul large pickup trucks because they can't haul as many at one time and they get paid per vehicle. So.... our trucks get left at the storage yard until all the small stuff is gone.

18 weeks and still no window sticker. Ugj.

14 weeks and nothing for movement at all still stuck in D I’m so sick of even trying to get answers I been looking on dealer lots. sadly already passed 2 up that were twins to my own order and one was even ordered for dealer inventory 5 weeks after my order then now found one that was ordered 2 weeks before mine supposed to arrive at a dealer any day now. Sucks trying to just wait for my order but it sucks having no info at all why nothing is happening with my built. Got a control number early November and told you will receive a email with an update well I’ve never got any at all still waiting and waiting dealer has no info at all either and has tried.. NOTHING AT ALL

that sounds like a contract issue to me. Ask them how much they will pay you to go get it. isn't that why the destination charge for those trucks is so high?

she looks so happy! that's awesome.

I'm looking at blue ovals now.

Getting very close to doing something different here for sure I’ve had not one honest answer from this experience!! I know bad time to order but it’s bull sh$& that even dealers have had trucks just like my order but mine in limbo and doing nothing. I asked ram chat today see for an update first time in 2.5 weeks and still nothing. Was told I see you have a control number I noted you would like more answers to your build status so we will see what happens.. but I don’t expect a single answer I mean why would o when dealer has tried as well and nothing there either
