It was a joke.. drive around however you like. I just hate to see another person fall victim to the Ram tow mirror tribe.

This tow mirror tribe is akin to the hellcat valence tribe who decides to keep the (now pink) lower valence sticker protector on their cars 4 years after taking delivery.

I also figured out how to jailbreak my iphone and run native iPhone apps on the screen. Now I have full control over so many apps, like pedal monster, via the touchscreen without having to pick up my phone.

I am using an iPhone 11 on 13.6.1. My truck is a 2022 with the uconnect 5. I hadn’t done a jailbreak in a few years either but once I saw this tweak, I immediately did it and it was worth the time. I can run and control all my home automation, use all sorts of mapping software like OnX, watch various streaming apps, sports, use safari or brave natively, check stocks, all as you would on your phone. I can also run Torque, bluedriver, or whatever OBD2 Bluetooth sensor app and display all tht data on the screen. I can also mirror my phone. It’s not 100% perfect and some apps are a little wonky looking especially when trying to input characters via the keypad that pops up. Another feature that doesn’t work is the pinch to zoom so some apps, especially the navigation ones, will not zoom out most times unless the “+ / -“ buttons are enabled on the map in the app itself. You can double tap to zoom in but can’t zoom out.

I’m not sure about previous versions of uconnect going full screen, but the car bridge tweak works for every car with CarPlay I’ve used it on so likely it’ll work for uconnect 4 etc. It’s like $10 but very reasonable considering all the other alternatives out there. The only downside is will not play Netflix and one or two other streaming apps due to how the data is transferred over Wi-Fi to CarPlay. But there are a lot of other apps like YouTube, spectrum, etc that you can play natively on uconnect via CarPlay.

There are lots of threads and instructions for all the various jailbreaks. You will have to figure out which will work for your phone and software.

I have an XS using unc0ver on 13.5 and it works fine with UC5. I don’t use Carbridge though just regular CarPlay. I’m getting an iPhone 12 Pro on 14.4 to jailbreak and might checkout Carbridge. I tried it once on my old Pioneer head unit and wasn’t a fan but could have been just slow Pioneer hardware.

Anybody here know anything about Sherpa winches? I’m getting a Ram 3500 diesel, live in Colorado and make it off road often enough. Truck is about 8000lb. Ram 3500 diesel.
I used my last Warn winch several times but the price on the Warn 16.5 Ti is close to 3k and although they make good stuff they’re WAY over priced and their website is all but useless and I’m assuming aside from their staff the company that owns Warn is probably a nightmare.
I’m thinking a Sherpa Steed 17,500 winch is the ticket but it’s hard to find much info. It’s Australian made, ships free to the US and seems in what I could find out performs the rest. Also they use the best Solenoids made and have an IP68 rating, NOT MADE IN CHINA like Smittybuilt and Superwinch both are IP67 and use a Chinese solenoid.

I need help getting into the back of the truck too and I have been too cheap to buy the step. I mounted a magnet to it so it can stand folded along the side of the bed. I have ramboxes to the side walls are straight.

Darn, I’m running 15.1 on an I Phone 11. Doesn’t look like there’s a break for this version. Maybe by the time my 2022 arrives, there will be one. If not, I’ll research an Android option. I have a spare tablet laying around.
