Based on the opinions of the Cummins forum, I wanted to do an oil change at my 1,000 mark using a Fumoto valve and Amsoil oil. I also purchased an oil filter cap. I contacted Fumoto and asked if they made a higher flowing valve for the Cummins. They do!! It’s the FG series which is larger. I ordered that one and installed it.
I used 10W/30 like my manual says for Southern California and an Amsoil filter.
First off the valve threads actually seems slightly shorter compared to the original plug which makes me feel good about letting all of the oil drain. I pulled the the filter through the wheel well using the plug and the model cap I got screwed really tight. It worked awesome. Not one drop.
The valve is plenty high enough so I’m not worried about impacts. I can keep the OEM as a spare in case. Overall easy change. Can’t wait to try the valve and not have the splash I had, even with a deep pan.
