So I just got my truck shipped up from Mark Dodge last Thursday. Have put about 150 miles on it and after returning home today I found this large oil leak on my driveway. Any idea where this is coming from or why I have this much oil on the ground? Guess it needs to make a trip to a dealer already

Your oil filter is above the area that is leaking, peek through the pass side wheel well and see if the filter is leaking. It’s grey and clearly visible. There’s also a oil feed supply line to the turbo above the oil filter. You will have to pop the hood and now you will be familiar with the oil filter location, it comes right off the top of the housing. Check that as well and get back to us.

Sorry, didn't take any more photos. There was a tiny bit of oil on the oil filter when I reached in through the wheel well. Checked the supply line from above and didn't notice anything crazy from up there. I then thought better of troubleshooting this when it only has 200 miles on it and brought it to the local dealership who will either be looking at it today or tomorrow. I at least got bumped to the front of the line since it's a brand new vehicle, and I didn't even buy from them so that's great. Another dealership I called said mid January for a service appointment.

Ok keep us updated when the dealer finds a resolution.

Well sounds like @flan was correct. The oil supply line to the turbo was bad. New part is on order and should be in by the end of the week. Dealership is backed up on loaner cars so back to a one vehicle house for another week.

I've asked out of curiosity exactly what was wrong with the line but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully this is all that goes bad with the truck and not a sign of things to come.

I would guess a faulty crimp. I see it from time to time on new hydraulic lines

That sucks. Glad it’s a simple oil supply line. On the bright side, this was your rust prevention treatment lol.
Hopefully you’re back on the road with your new rig soon and it doesn’t see the Dealer until you trade it back in for the next upgrade.

Yeah, they already said when I dropped it off that they would be cleaning up the whole mess for me. The hose arrived Friday but they didn't want to release it to me until they had enough time to make sure it wasn't going to leak again. So I won't be getting it back until Monday now.

Pretty frustrating to receive the car on Thursday afternoon and then have it in service from Monday to Monday. Barely over 3 days of driving it and then 8 days in the shop

At least they are taking care of the issue!! Good Luck!

Got the truck back this afternoon. It was confirmed to be the crimp connection where the line goes in to the oil filter as what caused the issue. Now to get ahold of RAM and see what they can do for me seeing as I had a brand new truck in the shop for 8 of the first 12 days of ownership with close to 60 additional miles on it...

What would they do for you? They fixed it didn’t they? Seems fine to me…
