2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I got an email from RamCares the other day. All it said was some stuff about getting my truck built quickly.
Doe this mean anything significant? Kinda hard to read through almost 1k pages of chit chat

Not sure I understand the Swiss Cheese comment? Am I assuming it means the bed rails will look like swiss cheese because of the glue used to seat the bed caps to the rails? Not interested in removing them if they are already present, but if they do not come with the truck I want to order them before I put on my Tonneau Cover.
This is a picture from inside the bed looking up at the underside of the bed rail. I am pointing to two tabs that are part of the rail caps. They go through holes in the bed rail. Both my loaded Larimer and ever tradesmen/ bighorn I have seencome through the shop i work at are the same.. The second pic is of a gm bed with thr cap removed. This is similar to our Rams. This is the Swiss cheese I was talking about. I just checked 8 of the rams we have at work and they all have these holes (1500's, 2500's, and 3500's. Tradesman to limited). Hope this helps explain.

Looking through the spreadsheet, it looks like a bunch of SRW's have been built but very few or no DRW. Does anyone know if maybe a batch of DRW's are about to go through as I've seen orders built behind mine but they are all SRW. I ordered a DRW and recently went D1. Hoping we get a batch of DRW's through soon.

yeah...all the same bed styles....until someday the HDs will update. But the 5thGens do this too today on the 1500 for the bedrails. GM and Ford do it too, I believe.
Can confirm gm and ford also. Have a few in the shop I just checked.

Since a DRW cannot use a tunnel car wash, what is everyone's best way to keep their DRW clean? I'm assuming either hand wash at home or manual wash at a bay car wash. Any other options I might be missing out there that I don't know of?

Pay a mobile detailer?

Has anyone noticed the window sticker not showing options on some packages? My longhorn doesn’t show power running boards on the level 1 and snow chief doesn’t show the cab lights.. really hope they didn’t get my order wrong those 2 are a must for me.
I noticed that on my Longhorn build too. The power running boards are on my build sheet, but not the window sticker.

Easy, Dude. Sit back and relax. I ordered in May and no truck yet.

Understood. But when Ram sends me an email to follow the link and add the VIN, I may as well try. I’m simply pointing out that the emails were a bit early to the party. I don’t expect to see a truck until February at the earliest.

Mine is a DRW that went D1 December 1st. Estimated ship date is December 20th. I completely understand that date will change but it looks like some more DRW are being scheduled

Woot, LBs unite!
Agreed, Woot. I love my LB. Even though I also lovingly call my LB crew cab the stealth bomber. It’s very very long, grey and, well, maybe not stealthy.
But my new one is a CCLB ctd and they’re sooooo quiet these days it’s gonna be the new stealth bomber! And by the way, I talked to someone from Stellantis today and she told me I AM IN D1! And the lovely Renae from Mark Dodge said my estimated build date is 12/20! Very exciting. I may, against all odds, get my new truck before pigs fly!

The plastic bed rails are necessary because the sheet metal underneath is an unfinished product. You’ll see the pinch welds and holes for the bed rail cap retaining clips. It’s not like other truck beds where the tops of the bed rails are smooth sheet metal, and plastic caps are an accessory item.

Ok you guys rock! Thanks for saving me a bunch of money. Thankfully I ran out of time today and didn’t get a chance to order my rail caps. Then saw this post! You guys rock!

I ordered my DRW on 10-13 and got the build sheet today. Called my dealer and he said they show the truck in final inspections and should ship soon(ish)

Actually that’s not always the case. Nowadays a lot of newer washes use a belt and not a conveyor. The ones that use a belt you could do a dually on. I know because I’m building a carwash as we speak. Mine will have a conveyor but I almost went belt.

Just wanted to update everyone on here. Big horn 3500 finally arrived to Kernersville NC. Saw it tonight and will be taking it home tomorrow afternoon. First time buying a truck of this caliber so lots to learn. First impressions were really good. I got the truck for towing my race cars around the country and taking me to work.

Joined this forum around page 136 of this thread, and now it’s almost to a 1000 pages haha. Through all the complaining and waiting, it was definitely worth it.
