Anyone taken delivery of RSI Smartcap lately?

Good deal, that's one less thing to worry about when I jump to 35s.

Well, I stand corrected. The shark fin measures 80” on mine (on 35s). However the roof rails are 81.25” and the top the air vent is actually 82.25”

I think the angles of the cap and distance between the fin and cap threw off my initial assessment. Was looking at it again today and decided to break out the big level and tape.

The one thing useful for a sunroof is the ability to peak out at the sharkfin and check for clearance. I've run into a few overheads that were not posted and had less than an inch of clearance. Gonna have to be on top of things so I don't become an 11'8" bridge statistic.
 
Anyone interested in a used Smart Cap, Cap World in Norwood Mass. has one posted for sale. Been up for awhile so they may have sold it already. If I would have seen this earlier, I would have cancelled my order.

you ought to see what used Fourwheel campers are selling for used. I guess people are paying whatever asking price is because they don't want to wait. looked a 2017 that was average condition and it was $7000 over msrp on a new one. I passed lol.
 
Anyone have any more updates on the next shipment? My last update from the dealer was end of December. I hate to keep bugging them but I'm not looking forward to installing this outside in January/Feb in Vermont.

I got this reply from RSI North America yesterday:

"Assuming you are asking about our EVO Sport edition for your RAM, we are expecting shipments of those caps later this month, and then again in February and March. If you haven't already placed a backorder, and are serious about wanting one, we would suggest placing a backorder with one of our dealers ASAP (https://www.na.rsismartcap.com/backorder). There is a good chance that those shipments will be spoken for with backorders before they make it to port, and won't ever make it into inventory. That way you’ll at least secure a place in line."
 
My dealer called Friday, said 3 came in to a distribution center. Not sure who they were going to. Next ones were end of Q1. Called 30 minutes later and said mine was just delivered to their showroom. Hoping to pick it up tomorrow.

Honestly, that's similar to how mine went down. I was pretty close to canceling the order and I got a call saying "it's here". Crazy.
 
Would love to see one on a members white truck. Nervously waiting as I scratch the front of my throat......:oops:
