2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Just picked up my truck. Few questions:

Where is the switch that controls the reverse lights in the mirrors?

Is there an owners manual?

Can I get a pic of the rear wheel liners on the 2500?

Have to go into Uconnect under vehicle settings and select the option for the mirror mounted lights to come on with the cargo light. Once this is checked, you turn on your cargo light and they’ll come on too. Cargo light is the lower half of the round button on the left side of the dash. Upper switch is fog light lower switch is cargo light

Edit: the mirror mounted reverse lights will automatically shut off if the truck is put into forward gear, however the cargo light will remain lit. You have to remember to shut it off.

Going to be changing out the tires/wheels of my new truck once received. Going with a larger tire. The factory label on the door jam with recommended tire pressures will no longer come into play because I'm also changing tire manufacturer. I always go by the Tire Manufacturer's recommended PSI. The question I have is: "Can I program the TPMS to match the PSI of the new tires so I can tell if these new tires are loosing air? I'm also assuming I can use the stock TPMS's with my new tires/wheels.
I believe the truck can be programmed to selected pressures.

The TPMS on my truck are rubber valves - it may be difficult or impossible to move to new wheels without damaging valve stems - if they are the metal threaded secured by nut like the trailer TPMS sensors, they could be swapped to new wheels.

As to changing tires, the recommended pressures are a function of actual load, size, and load range (ply rating) - not manufacturer. There will also be a max pressure on sidewall - but the tables of pressures vs loads for the specific size should be used instead of the pressure rating on the sidewall.

In theory, you could reduce pressures slightly by going up a size, but no tire manufacturer or dealer is going to tell you to go with anything other than the placarded pressures which are based on truck's design load capacity.

Having said all that, I will tell you right now my fronts are at 60 psi cold (per placard) and my rears are at 70 psi cold (placard says 80) with truck unloaded but I am not getting any TPMS warnings.

I’m running 55 all around, but I have a 3500 so I won’t get screamed at by the pressure monitor.

That was great info! Thanks!

Also keep in mind that if you are keeping your second set as spares or to mount winter tires on etc it would make sense to leave the sensors in your old set. New ones should usually cost less than $200 for all 4 just for reference, this is from Custom Offset website

You can find factory TPMS sensors for roughly $30 each if you search - I believe p/n is 68377549AE - they were scarce for a time, but seem to be available again.
If these are the same as mine, the valve stems are rubber, not metal - and as such may not be readily transferable without damaging the rubber portion on removal.

When getting new tires they reuse the TPMS sensors just have to use new stems. $20 or so for the stems.

Are you saying the 3500 TPMS alert system is different from the 2500.
Yes, it is.

2500 has TPMS
3500 has TPIS and doesn’t constantly scream at you if pressure is low. It just lets you see the pressure.

You don't want it to go empty. It will put you in limp mode, no bueno. It should have a 5 gallon DEF tank, on my 2020 I get 1000 miles/ gallon def.
Are you sure DEF tank is only 5 gal - my 2015 got about 5000 miles to 1/4 DEF tank and that was about 2 gal to full. (8 gal?)

Yep. 5gal. It's actually a tad bit more, but not sure how many .10s more.

I think the 2015 manual said when the low light came on, the tank would take 2 x 2.5 gallon containers.

Is that $20 for 4 (good deal) or for 1 (you can buy the whole sensor/valve for $30 ea)

$28 to be exact from my dealer for the 4 new stems when putting the old TPMS sensors into new wheels. Probably cheaper thru a tire shop.

Mines finally ready for pick up. Down side they are raising my price another 1500. I know its not much givin what these trucks cost but still the point if you know what i mean especially waiting since May. Any older orders on here have similar situation?
What dealer?

Just got a message from my sales person.
in short it said Est ship date is 1/6. Truck will be built just before that. Ordered 11/11.
Build shouldnt get hung up, i ordered a 4x4 tradesman with 2 small options ( because if a damn mirror blinks at me im gonna smash it.) Wonder how long shipping takes to cali.

What were you thinking!? San Diego was nice before the homeless took it over but it’s still part of Kali****edupfornia.
I left the socialist republic Kalifornia for America (Co.) in 2013 and never looked back. Still have family and friends there and go fishing out of San Diego a couple times a year.
Only staying for the California Burritos and because the Navy says so lol
