2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

James,

Was yours not delivered to the port in Baltimore? My vote would be to ride it out, the truck you want is built and it will make its way to you eventually. If you decide to buy one off the lot you will pay 22 pricing vs 21 pricing and you will receive little to no discount on lot vehicles.

As long as the vehicle si not sold there is hope. Have you registered the VIN on mopar.com. This wont help you track it but if it was sold to someone else you would know.

Need some insight from you guys. With being 49 days in the shipping stage and no indication on where my truck is, do I find one on a lot somewhere or wait it out? It’s great seeing everyone get there trucks, but sucks seeing people who ordered months after getting it first

I would be contacting my dealer daily, and anyone else I could find to contact. I'm not a twitter guy, but post on the Stellantis or whatever it is feed spelling out how long you have been waiting. I suspect that might be some attention from someone who should be able to find something out. What was the status last you heard, and when was that?

I try to be patient, and know that sometimes 'stuff' happens, such is life. But poor or no communication drives me up the wall.

Good Luck.
Last known status is on 10/25 it was moved to port Altamira, but was shipped out on 10/15. No movement since then

Do you know what rail company and the railcar it was on?

That’s what I want to do, but my 2010 with 300k is getting alittle sleepy

Curious, How does it tell you if the car is sold to someone else? On my Ram App I can still mess with my old truck that was sold 5 months ago. I could waste that guys gas tank or unlock it for him and he is 700 miles away. Meaning It didnt kick me out of access or anything.

Edit: Also on mopar.com I can add anyones Vin to My garage, is there an indicator there or something?

Truck is less than a week away. Hopefully.

Supposed to be “on the ramp” Sunday the 5th (does that mean off the train onto the ramp at the train yard?)

GM said can take a week after that due to driver shortage.

Fun fact, they offered me $18,000 for my 2011 F150 FX4 Ecoboost on trade. Put it up for sale tonight. Sold in less than an hour for $25,500 (asking price). AND my phone hasn’t stopped ringing. Crazy times. I’m worried I didn’t ask enough????
I did the same thing had the cleanest 99 f350 lariat crew cab long bed 4x4 7.3 diesel wirh 126k original miles. I sold it same day I listed it back in June for 23,500 cash. found our they were selling for a lot more after I sold it. I regret selling it because new laramie 3500 was 78k plus ttl. if I knew thearket and availability I would have never sold perfectly good truck

QUESTION: Anyone have any insight on negotiating GAP insurance from the dealership? Where I live near Atl. people are over confident in their driving skills and aggressive - so GAP is a good idea around here. Its just that each time I've bought it for a vehicle I've been given a different price and different reason for the price. Is it not solely based on the value of the vehicle?? Thanks in advace.

Jeff had some news to share with me. I’m on the train. Estimated delivery window available. I’d love to see it this year but with my luck, doubt I’ll see it.

Check with your auto insurance agent. Most times you can get it for Cents on the $ though them. Dealers are going to try and sell theres. But check the prices. I think our Daughter got hers for around 20% of what the dealer wanted. By going through her Auto agent.

Find a gooseneck trailer and you got it. Get @Surf2snow1 to split one with you.

From what I've seen this week, shipping mine to CA eats up a lot of the money I saved going with MD
this is why I went back to my local dealer one last time to give them a shot at the deal. originally he wouldn't go below the fwp invoice price. my last effort got me 1,100 off that then I get 500 military. it pretty much ended up being there invoice price and almost sitting the hold back. I saved 1600 off the fwp and the hb was 2550 which they gave me 1100 of that. plus promised a full tank of fuel and they give free oil changes for life at this dealer. I would have had to fill rhw 50 gallon tank of fuel since told me 45.00 in fuel is all they qould give me and then I'd have to figure time fuel and airfare. my leave days are very guarded as all military people know we like to save that for stuff we really want to do or family needs. so localade since. I had great interactions with MD though and if this dealer didn't come through MD was my dealer of choice. I would consider them next time as well since they are very professional

DO NOT BUY GAP FROM DEALER. ITS LIKE 5.00 A MONTH ON YOUR CAR INSURANCE. I HAD IT ON MY LAST NOTE FROM PROGRESSIVE. paid off truck early so never cost that much. Google search it and they will reccomend using auto insurance ones as well

A newbie here, just wanted to say this thread has been eye opening to say the least. Thanks for all of the info the members have put together about tracking these trucks and getting things done.

The rundown on my order:
2022 Ram 3500 Longhorn Dually w/ HO&Aisin, level 1 equip group, gooseneck prep, 50 gal fuel tank.
Ordered 10/1/21 and just spoke to Ram customer service. She’s currently in production and scheduled to ship 12/7. I live in South Texas, so shipping shouldn’t take too long. Fingers crossed! May have her by Christmas.

It’s going by boat for some reason
Ya. Altimira is a big ship port. I get vessels from there and many going to there on chemical runs. Do you know the name of the RO/RO vessel that your truck is on? It's very easy to look them on Marine Traffic .com, or Vessel Finder, or Find Ship apps.

Also anyone who is getting rustproofing…my options are Krown for $150 needs to be done every year or Corrosion Free which is good for 18 months but comes in at $450 each time. Anyone have experience with either? Read that Corrosion Free is more effective than crown and less messy as well as hitting more places but also read Krown gets into more places since it’s more fluid.

I personally use Krown on all my trucks, once in the spring and once in the fall
