2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

It's only the labor that cost thousands, not the ceramic coating. DIYer's can get the same quality coatings as the Pro's and save on the labor costs. Just have to do your homework and shop around.
The product itself is likely cheaper yes, but I disagree with your claim of getting the same quality end product. (maybe you have some experience in this field that makes you more qualified than the average joe, but I'm speaking generally here) A quality shop will have years of experience, a climate controlled shop, UV curing lamps and hopefully a warranty that comes with touch-ups and inspections. In my mind, that's worth the price rather than me messing it up to save a few bucks on an already expensive truck. And a messed up ceramic coating can't just be buffed out. A job im comfortable leaving to the pros!

My dealer told me hes banking on the military discount and having coupons at time of delivery for my truck as we agreed upon a price. i hope he sticks to his word. i left 100.00 deposit to show i was serious he told me i didnt have to leave one on my order. i was given the build sheet but nothing with a contract. just a price we agreed upon and a hand shake. hopefully hes not going to be like some other dealers on here and try and pull we cant sell you it at that price anymore because of a price increase like some others have mentioned. it will be a bad day for them if that happens cause im a man who lives up to his word and dont like people taking advantage of.
I feel you on that, which is why I have emails showing negotiated prices and statements that say "guarantee the price won't fluctuate more than a couple hundred". I grew up in a small town where you could take someone at their word, but 22 years in the Navy has taught me to get it in writing as well.

and that's your opinion. I'm just letting the average joe know there are other option that do give the same results and last just as long if you don't mind doing your homework. I did mine.

That’s the same interior I ordered on my limited. Would LOVE any additional pics you have!!
Here you go! Let me know if you want more!

Paperwork done and 40 miles under my belt already. This thing is unbelievable. It is incredible how much they’ve improved these since my 2017. Now I’m trying to get the goodies bolted on before the temperature drops!

Beautiful... I went with the brown and black, but that was just personal preference!

Awesome congrats hope you get it built and shipped soon. I’m crossing fingers my limited 3500 mega cab moves out d some day over 10 weeks and nothing and seeing lots of same trim after mine moving along.
Could I get a link on where to check status? I'm sure I'm well behind some of you (3500 Longhorn Crew Max Tow, ordered on 11/12) but I would like to have it for future reference. Thanks in advance!

Spoke with Aaron at Mark Dodge this morning. Said my truck is still on a rail car sitting at the port. He's gonna tell HATA to expedite my truck to the dealer as best they can. He has over 86 trucks sitting at HATA right now. (I'm not sure if all are sold or not) He did mention ,as others have, that's it a draw as to what trucks get loaded on the transports as they are only carrying 2-3 HD (2500 & 3500 SRW) trucks at a time due to the size. 3500 DRW are a challenge to get them moved at the same rate as the 2500. Of course due to the weight and size. He's hoping it will be at the dealership sometime middle of next week.
Edit: Oh, he also mentioned that 4 out of the 5 trucks HATA uses broke recently and they are just getting them back up and running. So there's that...

is it sitting on the rail car or has it been unloaded and waiting on a driver?

is it sitting on the rail car or has it been unloaded and waiting on a driverI?
It's sitting in the rail car waiting to be unloaded. Tracking I got from them says it was unloaded, but Aaron stated sometimes that's not the case. It could be unloaded, but as in my case, it arrived and is still on the rail car awaiting.

Doesn't seem very cost effective to leave vehicles on a rail car that could be used, but I get it. They are down on drivers and workers at these ports.

I personally am not a fan of films on vehicles.
I have it on a couple small areas on a 2011 GMC, and ultimately, whether clear or perfectly color matched, you're not fooling anyone, it still shows that you have film here and there. Plus, it gets chipped, scuffed, boogered up just like anything else. Yeah, it saved some paint chips over the years, but I do have some black tar spots that got under the film and cannot get back out. You cannot repair the PPF without replacing the whole sheet.
I can see both sides to it i suppose. Your either spending money to repair paint or replace the PPF or even both of it damages the paint in the process.
