[First World Problems]

I exactly 20 weeks to the day my truck finally arrived at the dealer. Sadly it took almost as long to get 40 miles from the Denver rail yard to the dealer as it did from the plant to the rail yard. Driver shortages are definitely still a thing.

3500 HO Laramie Night Edition w/ Level A Package. Love the truck and very happy I got in before the axes the Night Edition for the Laramie.

Finally got her home well after dark. The dealer did a great job and honored the original deal despite the $1500+ price increase. Ended up right at 13% off MSRP (including $1000 in First Responder and PenFed/Truecar incentives). If anyone is looking for a really good deal with an easy to work with dealer in the Rocky Mountain region, Prestige Ram in Longmont is by far the best deal I found in a 500 mile radius. Ask for Matt Laramy he will treat you right.

Here she sits. Still dirty from her trip but safe and warm. Waiting for her intensive cleaning / decon / clay bar / paint correction / sealing starting tomorrow. The I’ll send her to my Xpel guy for the works. By then I hope my AMP running boards show up cuz it’s a big step-up into the cab for my short legs.

I keep my History cleaned (cache is deleted every time I close my browser. I wonder if it has to do with the fact I use Fire Fox (Mozilla) as my prefer browser? What Browser were you using to make it populate?

Quick question guys. My salesman informed me my truck is due for delivery any day now. They offered me a promo deal for a 3m protection film install. Full hood, quarter panels, bumper and rocker panels. Now i know my 2021 2500 i traded in for this new 3500 im getting already had a rock chip in the bumper within 1000 miles so I'm leaning to get it. Just seeing anyone has experience or feedback on the clear protection film?

Im a fan of the paint protection film. Hope my dealer offers it for a reasonable price because I've already been wanting it. Imagine going through an old farm gate in the dark and the next day realizing a piece of barb wire scratched the #$&$& out of your paint job. With that clear stuff, it can just be removed and reapplied. That real life scenario happened to me recently. I want my dually fenders completely wrapped in the stuff.

I personally would not do a DYI ceramic coating. Find a good detailer and work on them with the price. If it's a good coating it is on there for a very long time. There is no room for mistakes on a high-quality ceramic coating. It's not like a wax job where you can just use dawn and take off all the wax coating.

You do need to clean, clay bar and paint correct your truck prior to adding the coating. It's worth it to me to have someone else do it. It is a lot of work to do on this size of a truck vs a car. With a high-quality coating, you should be able to just spay the truck and dry it and it will look new for years.

This coating doesn't protect from scratches, dings, and rock strikes. But if you use a company that has a good warranty, they will paint correct it for you, and apply the coating again.

I personally will use a car wash because I use my truck as a work truck and have to get the mud off a lot. The coating helps a lot with this IMHO.

I can't remember the name of the product or the company, but if you look around you can get a treatment for your truck's underside to protect it against salt. If you live in a state that gets a lot of snow, I would recommend looking for this yearly treatment. There is a reason that Northern states like Southern states used cars and trucks. Salts will rust out of your truck quicker than salt.

A number of us had problems like this, The links in Cryptosticker gave me a Window Sticker a few days before the build list and the links in the spreadsheets didn't populate for a day or so after. I think the computers at the factory and the main FCA servers must update overnight - If there is a human element involved - Who Knows!

Me tooooooo. I know that it’s 5 months but that number is arbitrary at best.
I need my truck for work. I need to sell my existing truck to coincide with the delivery of my new truck. BUT Ram cares! Not! If it’s 6 or 7 months I’m fine, I just need to know. At the least they should convey some rime or reason so we, the worthless customer, can figure out how to go about our lives.
So I THINK I should put my truck up for sale when I get my build sheet. Then with my luck I’ll get interest when I’m on the plane to Mark Dodge and will miss the sale.
I’m ranting, but I’m also serious. 90k for a vehicle from a company who doesn’t give a rats ass about the customer. But it’s got a Cummins and I still think it’s better than a ford or GMC. So here I am, waiting. And waiting! And WAITING!!!

I personally am not a fan of films on vehicles.
I have it on a couple small areas on a 2011 GMC, and ultimately, whether clear or perfectly color matched, you're not fooling anyone, it still shows that you have film here and there. Plus, it gets chipped, scuffed, boogered up just like anything else. Yeah, it saved some paint chips over the years, but I do have some black tar spots that got under the film and cannot get back out. You cannot repair the PPF without replacing the whole sheet.

Here’s my info. I know I waited a long time to post it, my apologies. Been following this thread since about a month before I ordered, and have read every post on every page. If the guys who update the doc could do that, I’d be ever grateful. I’m not proficient in Google docs, and don’t want to jack up all the valuable info.

I ordered mine 11 days after you with the only differences being Delmonico Red, Night Shade, and no sunroof (I never use the one I currently have on my '14 Tundra). When I saw your color on the dealer lot on a 1500, I almost switched. I stuck with my original plan. Both will look great, IMO.

Paperwork done and 40 miles under my belt already. This thing is unbelievable. It is incredible how much they’ve improved these since my 2017. Now I’m trying to get the goodies bolted on before the temperature drops!

It's only the labor that cost thousands, not the ceramic coating. DIYer's can get the same quality coatings as the Pro's and save on the labor costs. Just have to do your homework and shop around.
