I expect to get a bunch towing responses, which I will do on occasion, but the reality is I just want a bigger truck. Did a little homework and see the Ram 2500 uses coil springs rather than the leaf springs on the Chevy and Ford. Guess my question is how much "stiffer" of a ride should I expect with a 2500 with nothing on a hook behind it...Thx in advance and Safe Travels.

Agreed, that said a Ram 2500 will ride better than an F250 by a mile. The GM 2500s ride good though.
Not a 1:1 comparison, but My buddy’s 2017 Chevy 2500 Duramax (with aftermarket rear airbags and Bilstein 5100s) rides super stiff compared to my Power Wagon.

Depending on payload/tongue weight requirements, you might be able to call our friends at Thuren or Carli and have your 2500 ride like a Cadillac.

I currently have a 17 F-150 and there is no comparing a 1/2 ton ride quality to 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. The HD truck is 100% going to be stiffer especially unloaded, HD trucks ride best when loaded. With that said the ride quality is not bad on the HDs, just stiffer than any 1/2 ton. You really need to go out and drive one. You mentioned you wanted a bigger truck and you will definitely feel and notice it when driving a 2500 or 3500.

What specifically if you don't mind a stupid question? Thx

They make replacement coil springs. Stock height, leveling, lift, etc.
This. They have some awesome setups with springs/shocks, sway bars, radius arms, etc.

You’ll also see ride improvement from more sidewall if you upgrade your tires and lowering the air a little.

Factory rear air ride plus carli 2.5” pin top system on mine. Rides better than both of my previous Raptors did.

Thx for the reply...I won't be off road much, so I researched the crap out of this topic and landed on ordering a Cali myself. Pulliing the trigger on the Cali 3.25 Commuter. Any thoughts compared to your Pin Top?

I don’t plan on taking mine off road much either (that’s what the Jeep is for), but I simply called CJC and asked “money no object, what rides and drives the best and still allows me to tow full weight”. The pin top was their answer.

I do prefer a more controlled ride, and they said the fox based commuter system is softer but not as well composed.

They also had the pin top in stock.
